Does anyone know if the CB Embossing folders & Nestibilities will work w/the Big Shot? I wouldn't mind saying goodbye to the CD for the BS but, only if the stuff I love doesn't have to go, too.
There is already a Convention 2008 Blue Tote bag on Ebay. It's going for $71 so far...Convention hasn't even ended yet!!! She has already doubled her money considering these are on the Momento Hall list for $35...Holy Moley!
I just spent most of the evening going through my craft closet to get items I don't use anymore to sell. I realize what a shopaholic I am. I'm hoping to make enough to finance some of my purchases which now seem to include the bigshot. Feel free to browse if your in Ottawa, Canada
It does not state that anywhere that I've found. It's not AVAILABLE to customers to order from their demo until 9/2. The flier is supposed to be downloaded and shared until we get our Holiday Mini-where the BS will be featured. "Until you receive your mini catalogs, print a copy of the downloadable brochure, and pass it around to your workshop guests. Customers can begin ordering Big Shot products beginning on September 2, 2008."
So with that: Voila-it's on my blog already http://cupcakebreath.com
Go to the right hand side bar where it says something about " so you think you are a big shot "
I believe that DS has stated that if it's not available on the customer side of the website then we are not supposed to post if online. We ARE allowed to share it with our own customers (that was what I was told) but that it was NOT allowed to posted online.
I've had a Big Shot for about a year and love it. The Nesties and CB folders work just fine. I also ordered the package and will probably sell my old Big Shot...or just give it to one of my daughters....but I'm keeping all my dies!teehee
I have the original Big Shot and it works with all the dies and the cuttlebug folders. Even works with Nestabilities...it's all in how you "sandwich" them.
O.K. so here I am at convention and of course the BIG news of the BIG SHOT came out (I know you all know) but here's the deal, I have had the original Big Shot and never ever knew of all the things it could cut! So I plan to fly home tomorrow:( (Yes convention has to end I will so miss my new friends, Mary, Lisa and RoseMary) and try out all the things I can and see if it is really what I have seen! (Can' believe it!!!) So then I will visit my friend 'Craig' you know of 'Craigs List' and put my Big Shot up for sale and buy the bundle!!! YUP it is a Great deal soooo stayed tuned to see if Craig has sold my unit. Little hijack here, it has been so fun this year, I have meet so many wonderful demo.s and the above mentioned and me already are planning our coast to coast and in between quarterly swaps (Lisa you are up!!)

I will certainly clarify this on Monday then since it seems to have bothered some people even though I interpreted as being that they have asked us to share this information thru a printable brochure until the Mini comes available-but have not specified a date for releasing the brochure. There are lots of printable brochures to share with customers which are also not on the customer side of the website. I am interpreting it this way also due to the fact that Convention is open to NON DEMOS and there are non demos there this year. Meaning that Non Demos were in the room where it was announced -and it was also already published in a major national publication=even though we speculated, it could have been a misprint-but it wasn't. When I finally get thru to DS I will post their response.

Everything up to 5 1/2 x 6 will work.....I don't think the ones 6 x whatever will, or the extended ones. I'm sure someone else knows more than me ;) .
I did a bunch of research today on the Cuttlebug website. If you search the FAQ you will find a link to the "matrix"...their word, not mine, and it shows you how to use the Sizzix 12" dies in your Cuttlebug. At this time, I don't think there is anything for the Big Shot that does NOT work in the Cuttlebug. I had to do a lot of weighing of pros and cons today about getting the Big Shot. I think, for the purposes of demonstrating, I'll have to get one. I'll decide what to do with my Cuttlebug later.
The bag - is to DIE FOR!! I am NOT a bag person, and I LOVE IT. I may get the bag FIRST....LOL! I am going to have a garage sale to help defray the cost of the kit.

She also may have purchased it with the camera case bundle. ($49.95)
You gals have me dying here. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading everyone's responses to the catty and other convention news between taking care of kids and whatnot today. This little bit 'o news though has my palms sweating and my fingers itchin' to place an order. I'm trying REALLY hard to hold off until the new catty so I can take advantage of new goods, but y'all aren't helping much! I just need to check over the budget one more time and figure out where I can 'squeeze it in.' Time to sell some stuff.
After talking with HQ this afternoon - they said that the 4 dies that come with the starter kit, ( scallop envelope, top note, birds & blooms & decorative strip) will only be avaible if you buy the starter kit. You won't be able to buy them deperately.

If you look at the brochure posted on the demo site, they are listed for purchase separately. You may not be able to pre-order them just yet, but they are listed with item # for separate purchase.

All 30 dies are available for pre-order right now. All the items in the brochure are available including the accessories as well.
Thanks for the update. I didn't try yet, I know someone else posted that they couldn't order anything but the bundle but that was minutes after it went live (obviously a glitch)

I think what he meant was that you can only buy one of each item, like most pre-orders are...you cannot get a second set until the are available to everyone.

That's what I thought too- so I tried. I ordered the bundle. Then tried on a separate order to order the dies separately and it let me, though I didn't complete the order because I don't need two of the same die.

Yes, please post what they say. My understanding was not that the 'information' could not be shared (in other words, you can type out information) but that the actual brochure file could not be posted if it wasn't available for customers yet.
All you ladies clearly know way more about this product than I do (which is about zero). Some of the dies are almost 14" long. since our paper is only 12" max, how would one cut that out????
I ordered mine last night too! I got the starter kit with the bag, and a couple of other dies. I will probably order a couple more dies when I do my order out of the new catty!

Hope this helps!
The BigZ dies will not fit in a Cuttlebug, only the big kick or big shot. I have some Bigz dies and they are definitely too wide for a CB. They don't even work on the original Sizzix machine, just the Big Kick/Big Shot.

No, I've got 2 of the BigZ dies (the Daisy and another one) and they both fit no problem. There are some that won't fit, correct, but not all of them are too big.
I had to order $150 of dies as soon as it came out and then got 3 more dies for free stuff. Even though I don't need any more hostess sets, I got a level one to break up and use in my door prize basket. I figured as soon as everyone sees the big shot dies there is going to be a run on them and may be put on backorder. I sure hope SU got lots of the dies because shortly after the catalog comes out there always is a run on the new stuff and shortly afterwards, backorders. I have the cuttlebug and hope some of them work on it, but will invest also in the bigshot because I got the large die to make baskets for a class. I know a lot of my customers got the cuttlebug and will buy the dies that will fit, I see a big run on the bigshot during SAB when you can get a 2 free sets for free while buying it. That will make a good selling point at that time. NOW I JUST NEED MY CATALOG! ! !
you see I ordered so early see post#1 and of course even though I had a very kind and patient ds on the phone she was not up to date on her info (this is so common I am not in any way surprised) she did not know there was anything else available but the package, I could have gotten another die cut for the free merchandise instead of old catty merchandise. Since ds was closed day after realease and I could not cancel my order, I will send it back at my cost and cancel the order that way. I am having major buyers remorse and regretting not waiting for the new catty to get my rewards.
SuG, I think you should just keep the order coming - you will be so excited to have it and start playing! You can always sell your retiring hostess item - and if you chose old catalogue items you can still use (cardstock or something consumable like that) then its all good anyway. I'm sitting here on the fence trying to decide if I should try to beat the rush and order NOW with old benefits rather than waiting for new. Decisions decisions!
