I searched this site before posting to see if anyone has ever made this request before but I don't see it. I feel funny posting it but I'm desperate. My SU! Consultant is on vacation and I need a stamp set ASAP! I was hoping I could borrow hers or someone else's that she knew so I could get some birthday invitations done ASAP! She is doing a demo for a friend of mine next week and I will order the set then but by the time it comes in it will be too late. So long story long I guess - I was hoping if someone on this site lived near me and had the set they would be willing to let me borrow it for a couple of days. I'm looking for Ahoy Matey. My plan was to order from my friend's demo next week but when I calculated when it would be ordered (once all checks and credit cards cleared) and how long it usually takes to get delivered I wouldn't have enough time to get the invites out in a reasonable time frame. My son wants a pirate theme birthday and I have no other set that will work. I live in Newington, CT. Thanks everyone for looking. You can email me at [email protected] directly.
I'm not sure what you mean by stamped images? Someone would stamp the image and email it to me and I would print out? Is that correct? sorry I'm being dense! Thanks for much for responding!
Someone would stamp the images on cardstock for you and mail them to you then you would cut them out and make your invites. I don't have the set or I'd be happy to do it for you.
You could go to that set's gallery and see who all has made cards using it and then pm then. Maybe you could even find someone with it that lives somewhat close to you! Maybe you have already done this!
Excellent Idea! I thought about that but wasn't sure if that was too pushy! But now that you suggested it I will do it. I'm pretty desperate at this point! Thanks!!
I am wondering it might be possible for them to stamp it, scan it and e-mail it to you and then you could print on cardstock, just to get you through this emergency? Not sure how good an image you might get, but might be worth a try. Good luck. I don't have the set, but I would help if I could!
I can't help you with the stamp set, but my son just had a pirate party a few weeks ago. We did some really fun activities. If you need any ideas, I would be happy to help. Good luck finding your set.

I believe this is illegal due to copyright issues.
Having someone mail you ten or so white stamped squares is fine and should get to you in a day or two, plenty of time. I don't have the set or I'd do it for you! Good luck!

I am so used to TAC encouraging us to share that it just did not cross my mind that this would not be an option. I forgot that SU has some policies like this.
So if this is the case (not sharing an image that you didn't pay for) then I'm assuming it's "against" the rules to borrow a friend's stamp set. Me and my friends do this all the time, I guess we will now have to worry about the SU! police finding out! I can't keep track of all these rules!!!!!!!!!
Really? But it is OK to give images at the same time? I guess I don't know how these are different. In the end you have an image you did not pay for.

Yes, you can stamp images and send them to anyone, no problems there. It's the mechanical reproductions that are not allowed, with SU!, TAC, A Muse, Hero Arts, etc. They all have a no mechanical reproductions clause.
It's not a matter of using images you haven't paid for in some way, it's a matter of SU's policy that all images you use of theirs must be hand-stamped and not electronically produced.

Yes, you can share sets, no SU! police will come hunting you. Yes, you can share images and stamp sets. C'mon, ladies, common sense tells what is right and what is wrong.

I agree that common sense would tell us this isn't an issue. However, I've read other posts where some people indicate even reproducing images seen in the gallery is against copyright rules (intellectual property). I don't agree with this but everyone's interpretation of the rules can be different. I've never thought sharing sets was an issue and will continue to do it. The matter was raised so wanted to get other's opinions on the subject. But back to the original matter at hand - I need the Ahoy Matey set!! ha ha We have been talking about mailing stamped images, would anyone be willing to mail me the set to use for a few days? I would pay for shipping costs. As I said I'm desperate. I feel funny contacting another SU! consultant that I don't use and I've contacted all my stamping friends and no one has this set yet. Thanks everyone.
Mechanical reproduction can alter an image (change size, proportions, etc.) and reduce quality. It makes sense for companies that sell images to protect their products by restricting use in this way. The companies invest a lot of money and resources in generating their products in the first place.
So sorry I haven't bought this set yet :( It is on my list but that doesn't help you right now. But I can help keep your thread at the top so the right person notices :-).
As for the sharing stamped images question, the only restriction is that your images have to be hand stamped. Companies don't care if you stamp them, your neighbor stamps them or your grandma in Florida stamps them ;) , they just can't be photocopied or scanned and then printed. Taking pictures of finished works and posting them is allowed but you should not print and use copies of cards. So having someone stamp their cardstock and mail it to you is A OK :-)

THANK YOU!!!! There HAS to be someone out there that lives in CT or would be willing to ship the set!!! I have to hope!!
That is great clarification on the use of the images!! Thank you!!
I really don't believe that TAC allows you to stamp, scan and reproduce their images, do they? I don't know much about them, but that wouldn't make much business sense since one person could purchase a set and sell the images on ebay or wherever they chose. The, the company would lose sales on their sets. Hmm...

Thanks to all that replied to my post. I contacted someone who posted on the gallery and she ended up being a demonstrator and offered to order the set for me tonight! So I ordered it and should have it next week. THanks to all for posting and trying to help me out!
I thought I saw some pirate type stamps at cornishheritagefarms.com. They have also been very quick to ship stamps if you are looking for coins, maps etc.
