I just went to the Offray factory sale in Hagerstown, Md. and spent 22.00 on ribbon. They had a bag sale where you fill a bag for .99, so needless to say I have plenty, as much as a dozen shoe boxes full sorted as polka dot, strip, pattern, grosgrain, sheer, satin, plaid, word, and Christmas. And then the next size up plastic containers sorted by color.

Ooohhh.....I didn't know about this. I might have to plan a short trip there.

that place can be dangerous! (but I love that kind of danger...)
I just wound my collection of ribbon onto clothespins the past week, what a pain in the rump, and I have about 100 clothes pins. I also have four SU! spools of ribbon. I don't think I have nearly enough. . . I never have the ribbon that I want!
Oh my goodness...I have a lot! I just had my hubby put up a 6 foot shelf yesterday that holds the Michaels photo boxes 3 high. The shelf has more than 18 boxes! That does not include the 3 SU ribbon keepers that I have nor the Iris cart drawers... I LOVE LOVE LOVE ribbon...
Blessings.
hmmm, I am addicted....I have two eight foot gutters full and probably need to start a third. In my defense, I was a crafter using ribbon long before cardmaking. Starting up my cardmaking craft about 8 years ago has just enlarged my ribbon supply. LOL
This is too funny! (or not)! Since I started this thread, I have more than doubled my ribbon supply! I seriously have a ribbon addiction. I am using it a lot more now, though! At least that helps me justify having it all! heehee! See, I do have a problem!!
And, I thought I had a lot of ribbon--apparently, I do not have enough. I like stampwithmax's idea--one roll for me and one of same to use for my customers. I am addicted to ribbon, but I do not want recovery.
I've got lots and lots and then lots more. Some is organized in photo boxes, some in 7 X 10 storage boxes, some in embellishment boxes, some in larger containers and some in bags. One of my projects is to go through all of my ribbons and organize them by color, right now they are not and it it tough to find what I am looking for. Someday...someday...I will have a nicely organized craft room. I will then take a picture of it because it will probably never look like that again!
I am so glad that you did not mention lace or ric-rac!
Recently I just re-wound a lot of mine and was surprised at what I had, I don't have an exact figure but I know over 100 and I'm thinking closer to the 200 mark but not over it.
Funny we should all talk of how we don't have what we need. I was in complete awwww of my collection this weekend or lack of!!! I started a card KNOWING I had sheer black with white polka dots on it!! I KNEW I had it right, BUT comes time to get the ribbon for the card, guess what, you can't guess it can you?? I DID NOT HAVE IT!!!!!!!!!!! I was simply beside myself, here I am in the land of ribbon but not with the spool I need. Next time HL has 'em 50% off I'm getting a sheer black w/white dots!!!
HL has so many cool ones now and when they go 50% off, it's hard to pass up. I buy at least 15 then, the only time I don't is when I remind myself that I don't remember all I have. I'm attempting an inventory right now so I know!
Oh gosh, too much to count. I LOVE ribbon, and have been collecting for years! You can see a picture here (3rd picture down). Gotta love ribbon!

I've never counted it! But I have a lot...maybe not as much as the original poster, though.
When I found The Ribbon Retreat, I started buying in 100 yd spools and I have most SU colors in that. I also have several spools of SU ribbon (from the olden days when they sold most of the colors). I do use it, though it's going to be a *long* time before I run out.
Too much to count, does that mean that I have too much ribbon. There is always some that I don't have and I really, really want and must have.
I need to go through my ribbon, some of it must be oodles years old by now, I had it when youngest DD was in High School and I used to make and sell garters for the Prom's, Homecoming's, etc. I need to put that ribbon out in a tag sale, make room for new ribbon.
It is funny that this thread is popping up again, now. I just sent my DH to Home Depot to get the supplies to make me a ribbon wall.
I have baskets and boxes and boxes and baskets... all overflowing with ribbon. It is so bad (because of our moves) that I cannot even access most of it. By this afternoon, it will all be arranged neatly on my wall!!! I am so psyched!!
I didn't think I had that much ribbon, but I recently took all of my ribbon off of the spools and wound them on matting board and secured them with elastic hair bands.
This is what it looks like NOW
I quit counting at 450 rolls..I buy a lot of ribbon from everywhere imaginable. I just had hubby put a new shelf above the window in my stamp room that is 6' long and deep enough to hold the photo boxes. These are stacked 3 high and cover the entire shelf...this is just my NEW ribbon storage...dont want to get into all the other places I have ribbon stored. No wonder I am running out of places to put stuff.
Blessings.
LOL.. I am Ribbon pbsessed myself, I have mine on Ribbon cards that I made out of Acrylic sheets... Each card can hold 4-5 lengths of ribbon (about a yard each length) and I have about 300 cardcs so far and still have a bunch of ribbon to put on cards, just have to make more... Then I take teh ribbon cards and put them on big jump rings according to color and then I hang them on those hard plastic hanger that have the indents for the ribbon loops in skirts/shirts etc.. (I can get about 3-4 Big Jump Rings on each side of each hanger... So I have about 20-30 ribbon cards on each jump ring and then about 8 jump rings on each hanger... I decorated the hangers so they look cute and I have hooks on my scrapbook room wall where I hang the hangers.. LOL It's looks kind of cute, it's like a rainbow of ribbon on my wall..
But I always am looking for more ribbons and I don't live too far from Maryland, can anyone give me more info about the Offray warehouse sale thingy???
Once you pass 350, you should really stop counting!
Roughly, there are about 375 rolls of ribbon on my "organized" wall. And then you got to add in the holiday stuff that is brought out only a certain time of year... and then the jars and jars of clothes pin rolls... and then the carded ones. Way, way, way, to much... yet sometimes I still can't find the "perfect" one...
I have 200+ spools. Three dozen cards. 30 loose clips holding additional ribbons.
My mom gave most all of it to me a few months ago. I *love* it!! As I was trying to pack it up, she'd come up with another spool. Then another snippet. Then another spool. Then she looked at me, embarrassed, and confessed, "I am a ribbon whor*" We just laughed and I told her I inherited it!
DH had to build me a special shelf, after he built me the first one. The first one had two rods for ribbon under all the stamp shelves:
The second one is solely for ribbon:
Detail shot of the ribbon hooks:
I get ugly looks if I mention buying more ribbon. I think he ought to build me another shelf. Or make shelves for everyone else so we'd have a little extra $$ for more ribbon....

I just bought another 15 rolls!!! 50% off at HL, how can I resist?!!?!??! I've not idea still how many rolls I have but I'm guessing I'm getting up to 200, not as many as much as some of you all.
I'm right up there with the best (worst?) of 'em....
I buy May Arts by the spool usually (and sell it by the spool too if anyone is interested in great, near wholesale prices, let me know)....over 100 spools of JUST May Arts (I included rick rack and twill tape in there). I also do ribbon shares...so email or pm me!
SU - all the colors of 3/8" grossgrain, all the sheers when they had those (and yes, I still use them!)
Making Memories, Bazzill, Bo Bunny, Midori, Micheal's, Joann's, scrapbook store, etc...overflowing - almost 400 spools (which I will deny until the cows come home if my husband ever asks)....he just knows he can ALWAYS get ribbon to match any gift wrap at Christmas or any other time of year! I am sure I have some hidden too...I just don't know where it's at! I'm way beyond a 12 step program because I won't admit there's a problem!

OK, for the sake of helping my fellow stampers who may be in *NEED* of more ribbon, or for anyone who has to have more, go look at all the ribbons that now are at Pink Hedgehog's new site!
