Default How much to charge for altered comp books?

I went to a craft show this weekend as a shopper, and I saw a booth of altered items. She had regular sized comp books for $18, and the mini ones for $8. I am in a craft show next month, and I was only going to charge $4 or $5 with a matching pen. Were her prices really high or am I totally off. Her notebooks were very nice, but they weren't anything extravagantly embellished or anything. Thanks!

wow! that does seem like alot...the question is did she sell any?! I made a bunch of altered journals for a fair a couple of weeks ago...the biggest ones were $8 (they are in my gallery if you want to see the size)...and as the size went down, so did the price...I had maybe 15 in assorted sizes and sold, maybe 2 or 3! It is very hard to price things because you just never know what the customer base is going to be and frankly how the wind is blowing that day! It is all a shot in the dark...some days she might sell a bunch at that price and others - nothing!
YOu might want to think of keeping them at your price...the lesser price might attract more people and then for your next show increase it...
I wish you luck! Let us know how you do!

Honestly would you pay $18.00 for one? And did she sell any?
I think it depends on where the craft show is. and how much material you have in your craft items, and time.
