Default Special Rubber Color

I know there are stampers on this board that probably know the answer to this:

What were the special rubber colors used for?

06 SAB ~ Bliss Blue
05/06 Hostess ~ Purple
05 SAB ~ Mint
04 SAB ~ Pink
03 SAB ~ Ivory
02 SAB ~ Creamy Caramel
01 SAB ~ Sage Shadow
00 SAB ~ Forest Foliage

But what about white? and other colors? Any one have a list somewheres?

I think that they change the rubber colors each year. I have some mint colored rubber from SAB '05 I think.

I've been a demo for 2+ years so that's the extent of my knowledge on that.

free sets are (SAB, the old Hostess appreciation, the Hostess sets) always in a colored rubber and the colors change each year with the new catalog. They do that for fun, and to distinguish free sets from paid for sets because free sets can not be exchanged or returned, I believe (but I might be wrong). Now that SAB and hostess sets are limited edition, and they won't be offered in the new catty, they'll probably still be colored for fun. But it was to be a way to tell if a person got the set free as part of a promotion, or if later, they purchased that set out of the current catalog, at which point it was sold in the regular SU rubber color.

I hope they stick with colored rubber too - I think it's cool!

Anyone else know when colored rubber was used?

I have an older set with ivory colored rubber. I got it 2nd hand, so I'm not sure what it's from.

I think the ivory/tan colored rubber is from the SAB when Quick & Cute and The Fine Print were offered. Not sure what year that was...

I don't have the 03 SAB mini -- could it have been that year?

Yes! I just found a 2003 SAB catalog and those sets are in there.

I really don't like the colored rubber. The rubber just stains easier, and I like clean stamps, so I can't stand dirty rubber. They are pretty when they are new though=)
