So I've made about 70 of them... they're completely done - envies addressed. I just have to sign them and stick them in the envies. But - I can't get the motivation to do this??? You think I'd be happy to get them out the door, but I can't stand to look and think about them anymore!
I usually get my cards out the week after Thanksgiving.... that's come and gone already! Help!!!
I'm doing cards today...they are addressed...but I too have to do the insides...I'm doing mine in waves since I can't get the gumption to do them all at one shot...
I have the same problem- I did 160 Christmas cards and they have been done for 2 weeks- I just can't get motivated to sign the inside and put them in envelopes- and I only put about 30 in envelopes- the rest I hand to my co-workers! d

I can relate....although, my 65 went in the mail this morning!! I usually send mine out the day after Thanksgiving....but, alas, this year I was a week late!!! Hope that's not a trend, by the year 2009, they'll be going out on Christmas Eve. But, I do know what you mean...it took all I had to get the signatures in them this year....then DH had the nerve to ask, 'are you writing letters in them?" Are you NUTS!!! You want letters in them, you write them!!!
But, believe me, it does feel good to know that they are now the Postal Service's responsibility!!! Cheer up.....you'll find the 'will'.
i started today too... i dont want to sign them anymore. i am so over with christmas cards.
i am worried that they will be in time on their destination too. surprisingly europe is fast (we have austria, germany, switzerland, germany) but Canada takes almost 2 weeks and more
I am still working on mine! I'm sick of them already. The thought of having to write in them and address them makes me sicker of them than I already am. I'm not waiting til the last minute in 2007. I am going to make some every month, so when November rolls around I can start putting the addresses on them. I say that every year, but this year I'm sticking to it! This is ridiculous to be depressed over Christmas cards!

I just sent my out yesterday and today and I have been worried that maybe I could have made better cards to send out and now they are gone! Crazy, I know:rolleyes:
But I am glad that I dont *have* to make anymore Christmas cards, I think i'll make a birthday card tonight just to get the Christmas cards out of my head!
I need to set the mood for me to do this. I put on Christmas music, make something to drink (hot cocoa or whatever) put on comfty clothes or pj's and try not to fall asleep while signing the cards!
I was SOOO ready to be done with my cards. The cards themselves have been finished for over a week (actually, I passed the point where I had made more cards than the number of people I know sometime around Thanksgiving). I finally got them all signed and in the mail this morning. I mailed 66 and I still have over 50 sitting here. I guess I was really in the mood to make holiday cards this year. I just make a few of each type, and didn't keep track of how many I needed or how many I had completed. I think I'll be hitting the RAK list to whittle down the stash a bit!
I am so glad to be finished making holiday-themed stuff! I broke out the flowers today and made swap cards for my upline's holiday party/meeting using Roses in Winter.
yes I have that problem with cards and with the christmas newsletters.
Every year I make NEW cards and a new christmas letter. I handstamp each darn thing.... then comes the personal merry xmas with a stamp. But I can never seem to get there. December comes in like a tornado and before you know it Christmas is here and I have a stack of mail to send out.
I'm bad like that... My new years resolution for NEXT year is to be better. hehehe.
I feel your pain. I usually get mine right after Thanksgiving, but this year they went out this past Monday. DH writes the newsletter, and I tried to get them out as soon as he finished, but it still took days. We send out about 60, and I had them finished well before Turkey Day.
I think lots of people are experiencing this malaise this year--and not just we folks who make our own cards. I usually start receiving cards just a few days after Thanksgiving, but today was the first day I got cards--two.
Well now, I don't feel so bad- I only have four made... I don't want to do them! I love making cards, and I always get such joy out of holiday cards; just this year I'm a bit wonky..lol That's tomorrow's goal though..lol
Writing the Christmas Cards is the worst part of Christmas Cards! This year was especially tough for me as we lost my Dad 7 months ago and honestly, I'm not much for Making Merry this year. I didn't do a Christmas Letter either cuz who really wants to read about your father's death in a Christmas Letter?
Well, I can't say I'm depressed about my Christmas cards, but I didn't get excited about my designs and so I've become apathetic. I think once I get my tree up this weekend, I may have more Christmas spunk. I'll just put on the carols and try to think of everyone I love opening my handmade cards while I address them. Is that nauseatingly sappy? LOL! Hang in there everyone!
Yup...I completed all of the "pieces" to my cards in August, including the coloring on the card and the envelopes. BUT...they sat until last week for me to put the "pieces" together, sign and address them!!!
Got the stamps, got the ink, got the paper. Got three done. GOT NO TIME!!! Maybe next year..... (I think I said that LAST year and I was going to start them this year...IN JULY) LOL
I've done this 2 years in a row now. I make the cards then don't send them out. What a waste, this year I'm not making cards but trying to find time to send out last years. I feel your pain!
I'm in the boat with the rest of you; I Idid get them sent out last week but usually they are ready by the first of the month. I sense some discontentment among the troops this year; this "hobby" which is supposed to be fun seems to be a chore right now. Are we overdoing it? Trying to do too many? I was pretty burned out on card-making but then realized I had a bunch of December birthday cards to do; and since we'll be gone from Christmas through first week of January, I need to get started on the January cards also. But.....here I sit surfing. Have a great weekend ladies.
I've been doing Christmas cards for most of the challenges....and wow....everyone is getting something different, but I am having a heck of a time decidin who gets which one....:(
My cards are all made and the envies decorated. I'm home sick today, so I'm hoping to get them all addressed and signed. I made 78. The postage is going to kill me

I thought I was doing well, getting all the cards done, letter written, complete with a family photo, address labels done, a sentence added to personalize the letter... I let the stack sit around for a while, then finshed putting them in envelopes, checked off the list and mailed. Today (four days later) it hit me - I think the ones I had not prevously put in the envelope were not signed!! No way to check - now I will be wondering forever. Oh , well, guess I could have done worse things.
I have only made a few of them. Still have many more cards to make. My problem is that I have so much to do this time every year that making cards seems to be last thing on my list of things to do. So I will make as many as I can before Monday and the rest willl be the cards that I ordered.
I know the feeling! I made about 80, with roughly half having already gone out in the mail. Those remaining are the ones I kept out to write a short note inside, or because I wanted to add something else to the envelope (which are all stamped and addressed)...but I have had trouble finding the motivation to do them. I know it would be one more thing to check off the to-do list, but still.... Hate to see that list with nothing on it.

I'm just finishing my envelopes tonight! I've had them mad for over two weeks, signed them a week ago, and today I printed off 35 pictures signed them a brief message, and now I'm doing the envelopes!!! Next year I plan on being more organized!! I think I'm going to put all my adresses in a lable program, so I can just print them off and pell and stick!! That will save me time in the future!!
