A lanyard is one of those cords that hangs around your neck with a hook on the end to attach a name badge.... like they wear in companies for security badges or in some schools.
I have a SCS name badge that was made for me for our regionals in Madison.... Bev Barton made them..... very cute!! She used card stock and laminated it on both sides and then put poly shrink flowers on it... it's a pin. I think she made like 40-some of them!! I can post a photo of it if you want.. for inspiration

Jill - Thank you for the info. Yes, post a photo - I, for one, can always use inspiration.

At one of my events we put out 2x4" labels and a couple stamps... had them stamp the design then print their name with markers.
If someone had the new collage set we could just stamp out names... but our name on here and our location would be nice.
Thank you for this suggestion. I already have two other ways in which each person's name, SCS name and location will be visible. We'll have so many projects to make that day that I think it will be best if I make the name tags beforehand. Is that agreeable with everyone?
Sue
A lanyard is a clear plastic name tag holder. It has a pin on the back and an opening on the top. I think, or it is the necklace with a clear plastic name holder. You slide the name tag in through the top, you can use cs or pre-made name tag.
Mindy
Oh Duh!
I looked a page 8 and responded before even noticing a page 9, and someone answered.
Mindy, Thanks for defining a lanyard for me, even if somone else helped out too.
I'm getting some ideas for your name tags - and it's no stress. I'm making a couple other little things for you as well and have them nearly completed. I'm retired so I have the time. I also like to get things done early, usually, so I don't stress out at the last minute. There will be several things to do a couple days before we meet so I'll have all the fun things done long before that.
Thank you everyone for the opportunity to plan and play at making what I call "pretties" - and for the opportunity to meet you all.
Sue
Oh my goodness, Sue. You are an amazing woman!!! Thank you so much for all of your effort to make this event extra special for each of us. In my mind, April just can't get here soon enough!
There are a couple of you that replied to this thread when it first began but I haven't heard from you since.
I'm just making sure you're still interested in attending. Please either pm or email me or send in your registration so that I know your intent. Thanks, Sue
Sue---Linda and I are still coming but I didn't get my stuff out to you before I left town last week. I'm still in Birmingham until Friday but will get it to you as soon as I get home----I promise! If I get time while I'm here (this work thing really cramps my social life!), I'll try to mail it from here.
Thanks for organizing---I'm excited to get home & start working on my cards!!

Lisa,
No stress about this at all. Just wanting to keep on top of things (I'm getting really exicted to meet all of you and see your wonderful work!).
I had a good question today about the troop card you are to bring to the swap - are they for the troops, or are they for the troops to send home. They can be either one. If you do make it for the troops, take a few minutes and write a note of thanks for what they are doing. When I make one I usually address it to either "An American Hero" or "A Soldier Far from Home".
Keep the registrations coming - deadline is only about a week and a half away.
Sue
My friend was sitting with me when I opened it and she started laughing. She said, "you are going to this thing - with and invitation like this you better start stamping - this is gorgeous."
You don't intimidate me - you inspire me. LOL

Oh how sweet Heaven sounds when you have sent a loved one there.
Sue,
I just have to tell you how incredible your invite/directions is! Imagine my surprise to receive such a beautiful reminder in the mail last week! Wow! I can't wait to meet you in person!
Thank you girls for the compliments. They were fun to make - not an original idea, however. I fashioned them after something I saw in PaperCraft Magazine.
I am looking forward to meeting each and every one of you and I expect to learn lots.
I saw, Danita, that you've not been feeling well. My husband and I had something for nearly 2 weeks. I do hope you'll be feeling much better soon.
Sue
I'm a little confused. I didn't get anything in the mail like that. Is that because I haven't sent our registration in yet? I'll be sure to get them out tomorrow!!!

Yes, Krista, I send them out as soon as I receive registration.
Sue
Sue---I sent mine & Linda's registration in yesterday. I hope I remembered to mail everything---the mind is gone after being out of town 3 weeks!!!
After reading these posts, I can't wait to see the invite!! Do we still need to make our own nametags?
Thanks again for organizing this--we are really excited about it!
Sue my registration is finally going in the mail today. Sorry I am such a procrastinator. I can't wait for the swap, is it April yet?
I can be a procrastinator about some things as well - like getting my ironing caught up!!! I'd much rather be stamping. Looking forward to meeting you - thank you for the Anniversary wish.
Sue
Sue, I sent registrations for me and the four people coming along with me today. We're all excited about this. I can't wait to meet everyone! Thanks for setting this all up!
Registrations are really coming in - some of you girls have sent cards with your registrations and they are awesome creations!! I feel very honored to be stamping with you - I'm still a baby at it. I'm going to be a sponge on April 2nd and just soak up all kinds of new techniques and knowledge.
For those of you who have not yet sent in your registration - it needs to be postmarked by next Tuesday.
I have a question for everyone. I might be in Bloomington on Saturday doing some shopping. Are there any scrapbook or stamping stores I should check out? TIA
There's a couple good stores.........Pocketful of Memories on College is a scrapbook store & just a couple doors down is their stamp store. Then there's Scrapbook Friendz in the Schnucks plaza that's good. If you need directions, let me know!
Anyone going to the scraping/stamping event in Bloomington tomorrow (Saturday)? Some of the classes listed on the calendar of events here on the SCS schedule look good. I'm headed in the opposite direction tomorrow, however.
