I would like to know how to make a lake or and ocean scene for a boat or beach Do you stamp the boat first or the blue for the water? Do you use a dabber or the inkpad to the cardstock? Any help will be appriciated.
You stamp whatever will be in the front first, so based on your question, you would stamp the boat first and then you would mask the boat and continue with the rest of your scene.
Here's a link to video #1 on YouTube from Kevin who owns Stampscapes. He is the stamping scenery master and if you watch his YouTube videos (he has recently made lots of these scenery videos), all will be revealed re: scenery stamping 'how to'.
Another example of Michelle Zindorf's amazing talents at work. Thanks for that link.

Thanks so much for that link! That is an excellent tutorial. He makes it look so easy and he is adept at giving reasoning for the compositions. Loved it!
Here is a link to the tutorials page at Beeswax Stamps, just click on any of the subject lines in the boxes on the left or right for. Beeswax stamps are primarily scene building types so you will an expert by the time you finish looking at all those tutorials.

I have some of his stamps, too, and the images are wonderful but I never really understood how to use his stamps (especially the mysterious 'tonal applicator' stamps haha) so eventually I 'gave up' (GASP) when I couldn't get satisfactory results no matter what I did. Let me tell you, I created some pretty hideous scenes..........
But these YouTube videos that Kevin is making really has so much technique detail that I'm going to have to break those stamps out and give 'em a whirl
And all his little 'tricks' like using white ink with cotton swabs for fog and all the white dotting with a pen that adds highlights - he's really something - and then his sun rays and awesome clouds and on and on.
