Help loading picture as avatar

Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong. I go into my picture editing software and resize the pic until it's less than 12k but when I click submit, it tells me that it must be less than 12k. I've tried as low as 9k and it tells me the same thing. Any help would be appreciated.

I know Jenn will race to the rescue any moment, but I know it also has to be 80 pixels or less. . . have you checked that?

I did do that. I shrank it to 60 pixels. I can usually figure this stuff out but this has me stumped. It's probably something real simple that I'm forgetting to do. Thank you for your reply Suthnheart.

I got it, I got !!! Yeah. I was using bitmap instead of Jpeg. Now how do I change the Glitter Queen to something else?

The title under your name changes as your number of posts grow. It's not something we can change; I hated being a glitter queen, too! ;) Just start talking to everyone and it'll change soon

Thank you. I will be changing avatars often because I have six cats. Keep watching. He's a big boy too. He weighs in at 18 pounds and he isn't my biggest one.
