I just got back from a quick trip to Archiver's to get some last minute things. The line was PACKED with men with all sorts of goodies for their women!!!!
Several years ago I owned a needlework store and like stamping/scrap booking 98% of my customers were women. But every December the men would come in and stand on the edge of my mat at the front door with a panicked look on their faces until I coaxed them in to buy the goody or gift certificate their ladies wanted.
God bless all the men out there brave enough to scale the door at your LLS and buy you a special treat!
This reminds me of shopping yesterday...there was a man standing in the sewing scissors aisle, with a hunted look on his face. You could just tell he was agonizing over which (expensive) sewing shears his wife would want.
My DH will buy me craft stuff but i have to cut/print out pictures just so he knows what to get. That way he can go into the store and say "my wife wants this" ahahah
I go to the site, prepare the order. Pick out all the stuff, etc. Go through all the pages until it gets to the enter credit card here part. Then I go and get him, he sits down at the computer, enters his credit card (we're on the same account) and hits enter. Then he smiles and says, "Will you be done ordering craft stuff now?"

He so hates to shop. But he does well.
That is so funny...my laugh for the night.

I am so excited to see what is in the wrapped box under our tree. DH went to the LSS here and got me some things. I had a whole list of things written down so I am really curious to see what he picked.

My DH does it the easy way--calls my SU demo and places an order from my wish list, then goes to the LSS, HL, or Mike's and picks up some gift cards. I've yet to be disappointed...
My dh wouldn't have a clue what to get me, but he was thoughtful enough to buy a storage cart for me (and wasn't offended when I exchanged it for something I really wanted). ;-)
I did see a man in Joanne's today buying a Cricut cartridge. Hope his wife/girlfriend likes it!
Two men braved the snowy weather today to come to the Gina K Designs store to buy gift certificates - one for sure was for a wife. You can tell they are a little uncomfortable, and we don't have a lot of men come in, but we do love to have them! Every once and awhile one will sit down with a wife and do a make-and-take! It's so cute!
I find it so cute when you see men on the scrapbooking aisles at hobby stores, looking incredibly uncomfortable, mumbling under the breath, double-checking that list they are holding onto for dear life, and finally saying "All right, since you are a woman, do you think my wife might like this?"
My DH for years has gone to my SU demo and picked out things from the catty all on his own and I always seem to love what he picks! What a sweetie he is!

I feel sorry for my DH, we have one very expensive local store which you can get very limited supplies mainly paper. I refuse to pay the prices, sometimes 5 or 6 times more than what you pay in the US. Poor thing, even buying jewellry and clothes here is hard, all made for very small, petite asian women - can you tell I am neither small or petite (LOL!!!!). I will make up for it when I come to the US in February, week skiing and a week shopping!!!!!
Had to add my "God bless them" moment.
I told my db that I would like to have a "Gruffie" at some point. So he asks where to buy them - around us, only Hobby Lobby. I get a phone call Monday night (he went shopping) wanting to know where the h-e-double-hockey-sticks Hobby Lobby is at. He was circling the area for over 1/2 an hour before he finally got frustrated enough to call me - AFTER he walked around another store to cool down! lol! He got mixed around in the area and was only about a block away! Aw...poor guy!
We do HIS shopping for me in several ways. Either I order on line and then say, "Here's what you got me!" Or I send him to the store with a very detailed list, including pictures from the circular, location in the aisle, etc. He goes, armed with his cell phone just in case he needs to "consult", and picks up the "goodies."
He hates to shop so he is happy to do it this way and I know I am getting what I really "need" and I am sparing him the "agony" of making decisions!
Aren't we all sooooo lucky that our "sweeties" try so hard to make us happy!!
God bless their little "craft challenged" hearts! LOL!:-D
My DH thought of the GPS all by himself. He usually goes to the jewelry area of the local department store and picks out several items from the displays in the aisle. (Yes, this means no diamonds.) Sometimes he takes my DD to help. Since she was away at college this year, and the best department store closed, he shopped online somewhere for jewelry. I'm dying to know where. (My birthday was yesterday, so I already got half my jewelry.) He usually gives me a check to buy clothes, which is fine. He wouldn't even think about the craft store.
My Mom, however, who is not a papercrafter, went to Michael's when I had my non-laparoscopic hysterectomy. She figured I'd be laid up for quite a while (which was true), so she picked out a bunch of embellishments, as well as a book titled "Organizing Your Craft Space" and gave it to me in the hospital. I thought that was great because it took a lot of thought. (My craft space is still a mess, and that was 2 years ago.)

Merry Christmas!
That is a good sign, all those men in Archiver's! One year my husband got me a $50 gift certificate to there, and I was happy with the gift of course, but moreso that he went all the way there (40 min. drive) just for that!
Every year, my husband asks for my Christmas list. For the past five years or so, I've asked for gift certificates from a couple LSS or my SU demo. I have yet to receive even one gc or stamping item. When I finally asked him about it last year, his reply was "You have too much stamping stuff. You don't need anymore." This from the man who has three windshields and six tailpipes for one motorcycle!! That was the end of me making a Christmas list.
My husband had never celebrated Christmas until we met. (they did not believe in the "retail" Christmas thing) The first Christmas was very not comfy for him. He was like a fish out of water. He asked what he should do for me. I just said Gift Cards always work. I can then pick out what I want. Well he did better. He wrapped up 5 100 dollar bills!! $500!! Whoa???
We have been married now 9 years and he still surprises me. He is not afraid to got to Bath and Body works to get my favorite soap or perfume. He has tried to go to Michael's and other places but he just does not know what to get me. He just wants me to get what I want. So this year he bought me a new Ott Battery Powered Light and some fun scrapbook items from Ebay. (of course I bought them and he paid me back) That works for me. He says he just wants me to be happy with what I get.
This year, I am happy just to have him and my boys!! They are gifts to me!!
But, he insisted on something so I went for it!! Got it on sale though and he sure appreciated that!!
My hubby is also very thoughtful.... he lets our DIL do his shopping for him!! Lol... he gives her a money bribe to do so... he says her being a female she should know better what to get... lol
I think we are all blessed to have great hubbys!!
God bless
Nyoka

Hopefully, everything on your list!!!
I just email my DH with links to what I want - he is not a retail store shopper at all and that way I get what I want, without him complaining about the crouds!
Wow, there are so many special, thoughtful, and sweet DH out there! We are a very lucky bunch! My DH just wants me to get whatever I want. He buys me gift cards and will take me to any LSS I want. The day I got laid off, I was devastated. He wanted to cheer me up. It was his idea to drive over an hour so I could shop at Joann's and Michael's. What a super considerate mate!
