I was wondering how do people get to see/make comments on your cards if you stamped them without using Stampin' Up stamps? There are so many new companies out there and a few popularly re-occurring companies. Is there a place to put say Gina K., Hannastamps, Cornish, or Stampabella by name of the stamps used like there is for SU on SCS?
I use Gina K's stamps and I put GKD in the keyword field. I am sure there are simliar keywords for some of the other companies as well. If they are a member company you could ask in the member company's forum what everyone else is using. Also try searching for the company's name in the gallery. If you get results; look at the keywords.
If you go to the gallery and type in the search box Hanna stamps, Gina K, House Mouse etc. etc. you will get all the cards made with those stamps. I guess putting it in the keyword field is what you have to do. That is why sometimes there is a lot in the keyword field to have it go to different areas.
I just do a gallery search using the company's name. It is easier if people think to use Keywords when uploading, but even if they don't, a search should find it if the company name is mentioned anywhere in the upload info. The problem, though, with keywords like GKD, for instance, is that not everyone would necessarily know it (like me, for instance, lol), and a search for Gina K or Gina K Designs might not pick up "GKD."
Thanks for the suggesstions! I'll make sure to have good keywords in my cards because I do like to know how I can improve something or if somebody really liked what I have designed.
I think most of the member companies and advertisers post challenges and contests in their forums or home pages; they usually supply a code to put in as your keyword so they can be found easily. The daily challenges also provide a keyword and pretty much any card done for a challenge gets lots of views! If you're looking to gain exposure, definitely join in the challenges!!!

I just put whatever stamps I use in my description and in the list of stamps used, but I have to admit not always in the keywords. But certainly so that a search would bring them up. I use a lot of Hero Arts (HA) :-).
It certainly doesn't seem to me to make much difference to the comments I get whether they are SU stamps or not.
HTH
When I have time I simply pull up a list of all the recent gallery uploads and make comments. I'm not sure how many other people do that but it's another way to see cards using any/all stamps.
this HAS been posted before (or a similar topic) but if it's comments you're after, play the daily challenges. people who play the challenges comment on each other's card, and that's when you see cards with 20+ comments attached to them.

Where can I find the daily challenges? You all have been very helpful and I do look at the lastest additions in the morning and evening. I limit myself to 5 pages of 96 cards. I could ooh and aah all day long and get no stamping done.
Maybe I should sstart by saying I own just two SU! sets! I'm guessing people look at the recent uploads at least as much as they look by browsing particular SU! sets. I include details of stamps and supplies used in the description of my projects, in the individual boxes provided for that info and I try to add plenty of stuff in the keywords, using long and short forms if it seems appropriate (so if I've used CHF stamps I'll include CHF and Cornish Heritage Farms in the keyword area, for example). Playing a challenge on the day it's launched is definitely a good route to high exposure if that's what you're after - if you play the challenge later, it pretty much becomes a routine upload, just like any other.
I think making comments in the gallery also helps to increase exposure for your own stuff. Besides which, it's just nice to spread some joy Each time I upload a project to the gallery, I try to make at least five comments on other people's stuff. If I like to get comments then I figure other people like to get comments too!
I'm all about spreading joy. When I do my morning and evening fix of 5 pages with 96 cards a page I try to make at least 5 comments to other folks. It does feel good to get comments and I definitely am looking for suggestions on improvement. From reading last night I think you can join a forum where you submit your card for that type of feedback. I'm still a beginner when it comes to stamping and card making. I have made a lot of stuff, but I sure have collected it.

Thanks!
i typically look at the day's [or week's] uploads. your cards will show there even if they aren't in an SU! set category.
i will only search on a manufacturers name if i'm looking for ideas for a specific stamp.

ooooh I just checked out your gallery real quick and I'm going back tonight to REALLY look at it. A lot of great ways to use your stamps for stuff other than cards. Nice craft room too!

you're too sweet! i wish i had more time - my head is just BUSTING with projects ;)
I'd say I look mostly at the daily uploads. Maybe a couple of times a day if I can get the time. And then the challenges, and specific sets only when I am looking to see how they have been used and get a general overview. But daily uploads is definitely my first port of call. More likely to leave a comment that way too, LOL, because if it's a gallery for a set, I go to Slideshow, and then to leave a comment you have to stop the show.

There's a slide show!!!??? Where have I been? I'm going to have to check that feature out. Thanks for the tips ladies. I'm going to venture and try my first challenge either tonight or tomorrow.
