Default Get Togethers ?

I go to crops all the time to work on my scrapbooks, but what do stampers call it? How do you manage to go with as much stuff as we have? Do you take just what you need for one idea or load up the U-Haul? A couple of my friends want to get together, but I have my paper in a file cabinet and just can't see myself rolling it down the stairs and out the door!LOL Let me know how ya'll do it. Marci

We need to come up with a name if there's not one.

I guess I'm lucky, my friends usually come to my house since I have the most stuff to play with. I would try to come up with a project in my head beforehand and take along what I would need for it. And then a few extras. I figure if I can create the basic card, I can always embellish more when I get home if I know there is stuff I didn't bring with me.

I would prepare the same as I would for a crop. Plan my projects ahead of time (e.g. make a year's worth of B-day cards, party invitations, Christmas cards, etc) and take only what I needed to complete those projects. I actually have much more "stuff" for scrapping than I do stamping so for an evening of stamping, it would be much easier to pack up and go.

I invite 6 of my nearest and dearest to my house (yes, I stamped invites! LOL!) and asked that they bring a favorite card, plus supplies to make 6 more and a paper trimmer and adhesive. Everyone goes home at the end of the night with new ideas, 6 cards, a full belly (I make some scrumptious snacks) and a chance to catch up with some friends!

I agree it's much less work for me if my friends come to my place. In fact I have an open stamping night at my house most Thursday evenings. It's the night I picked to stamp for myself so I thought way not invite some friends over as well.

Anyway, back on your questions... Last month my Mom invited family and friends for a stamping day at her place. I got awakened to what it's like to be all of them when they come to my place. As I packed up to go in the morning I kept thinking what should I take? I might need that punch. What about some ribbon? And so on. Well, I ended up taking way too much stuf that I never even used.

So my suggestion, pick a specific project to work on and only take the supplies for that project. Or pick one stamp set and make a bunch of different things with the same set. Or pick a color scheme and a couple sets of stamps. Do the same colors and layout with different stamps.

Keep it simple. I had more fun sitting around gabbing then I did stamping anyway!

Default Great Advice

What great advice stampindonna. I hadn't thought of it really. I just look at my desk and think, "No way can I GO stamp!" I'm fully portable with my scrapbooking(of course I can barely lift the tote anymoreLOL), but not with my stamping. In fact my stamping took over my scraping desk!!!!!!LOL

What about a name guys?
