Okay, I am planning my first trip to a Hobby Lobby (closest one is about 45 minutes away) on Friday. Is there anything different that they have compared to Michael's or JoAnn's? Anything in particular I should look at?
You need to head to their website and print out a coupon from the flyer if they have one this week. I thought they did but I can't remember. Then you need to look at everything!! I love Hobby Lobby!! They have such pretty things to decorate with, material, ribbon, scrapbooking, rubber stamping, painting, cross stitching, stuff for the kids. You can't go wrong in my opinion!
They have a pretty nice selection of patterned paper - some My Minds' Eye, Basic Grey, American Crafts, Paper Salon, etc. Enjoy your shopping trip!

That's so funny, because the HL nearest me is about that far away!! I went for the first time right after Xmas, & I've been twice since. I love their stamps ~~ different from Michael's & Joanns. They have House Mouse, & some Penny Black. They have McGill punches if you like those. And the *best* patterned paper!!! And the Fluid Chalk Inks. I just love going there ~~ wish it were closer. Be sure to tell us what you bought!!

i prefer stampin' up! ink and cardstock basicly...
i don't however like SU! black ink- so i got mine at hobby lobby. they also have stazon there. i also buy my black cardstock there.
other than that the only things i buy there are tools (ei. punches) and occasionaly a stamp or two if they are to die for.
i try to avoid patterened paper as i have bought so much without purpose that i will probably never use all i already have... so i wouldn't buy any unless you have a spacific project in mind.
as a general rule tho- i don't buy unless it is in the sale add or i have a coupon. check their website- sometimes they have one on there!
I *heart* Hobby Lobby. Make sure to print off your 40% off coupon. Also, they have their brand of embellishments on sale this week (Paper Studio) and clear stamps!

Definitely a much better selection of ink and stamps than I've ever seen at Joann or Mike's. And I don't think you have to subscribe to their e-mail list in order to get the coupons- Joann's you have to subscribe and, unless I"m missing something, you have to get the newspaper circular in order to get the Michael's coupons- so go online and print the coupon for sure! You can also check out this week's sale flyer
yeppers there is a coupon this week to print out! also . . . the 2 that I go to both have clearance on the back wall . . . my dd had to drag me away from there last time. LOL! HL also carries a larger supply of Prisma pencils than Micheals does . . . and the ribbon dept in the fabric is to die for ! *drool*
oh and the BIG thing about HL . . . when you use the coupon have it WITH the item you are using it on and give that to the cashier FIRST. cause it seems that HL has not made it into the 20th let alone 21st century with their cash registers. ugh! I don't know WHY it has to be the first thing . . . just don't forget ! LOL
With regard to the coupon...print several. As a rule, they'll let you use more than one but it has to be in different transactions. If you have to make a major trip to get to your HL, it would (imo) be worth going through the line a few times to get a really good deal.
I WISH I had a HL near me! The closest one is about an hour and a half away. I'd love to be near an ACM too! Please let us know what you bought! I agree with kansmom...maybe she got lost.
Clear stamps and blocks are 50% off this week. As others have said get on line and print the coupon and check out their sale ad. I used to drive 30 minutes to get to the closest Hobby Lobby - now there are 2 close to me. Love their sales!

Thanks for all of the great tips and information. And no, I'm not lost.....yet. I am not going until this Friday so I still have some time to plan out my attack! I did get on-line and print out a coupon. I will have to do so again so I have an extra one just in case (I remember my mom used to send us through check-out lines with extra coupons, but I'm not sure my 10 month old will be up to the challenge!). I'm thinking I might want to pack a lunch, it sounds like I am going to be there a while!!
Thanks again and I will keep ya'll posted the goodies I end up with!
They usually have some great bargains in all their areas - florals, etc. The only area I can't usually find a bargain is their fabric.
Look on the end caps of the aisles for clearance items - they are also very good about putting holiday stuff on sale BEFORE the holiday actually gets here.
Oh I miss the edit button - I always think of something else I want to say.
I'm not a big fan of inkpads that are not SU - HL or Joann's - they just don't seem to have be as true in color and performance. I DO get my versamark pads and Staz-on pads (black and brown especially) there because it's the same manufacturer.
A great deal when you use your 40% off coupon.
Always check the clearance area, cause you will be surprised at what you can find! Then pick up Stazon, Versamark, and any Cat's eye fluid chalks you need. I scrapbook too, so I love their patterned paper section. I always leave a nice chunk of $$$ at Hobby Lobby.
I checked with the gal at my local HL and she said you can use several coupons if it's in separate transactions. So, take a bunch and just go thru the line as many times as you need. It's a bit of a pain, but a deal's a deal, right??
