Default Embossing folder technique

hi everyone,

I was wondering if you can help me with a name of a technique.

I want to stamp an image then use an embossing folder but dont want to emboss over the stamped image. What is this technique called.

Thank you
Nicki

I know it as double embossing, as per the SCS tutorial here: Double Embossing Tutorial - Splitcoaststampers
But both dry and heat embossing techniques have different names for the same technique depending on who it was learned from and it can be quite confusing.

A DIY solution works pretty well and offers more flexibility if you dont want to shell out on another product. The tutorial Sabrina linked to shows you how to do it with a die cut shape but you can do pretty much anything - I just tore up a cereal packet and used a couple of layers to get a partial impression on this card

Oh, I like Joanne's idea of using a cereal box to make Diffusers! I've been wanting to try this technique myself. ;)
