Default Dyeing ribbon...Need help FAST!

Checked the search feature here for this, but couldn't find anything.
How do I use reinkers to dye ribbon?

My daughter's wedding is tomorrow. She came over yesterday while I was gone and took the purple ribbon I was saving for her card and used it all up decorating the chairs for the wedding.

I haev an old Orchid Opulence reinker I can use, just need to figure out how to do it.

Please help! Wedding is tomorrow...I need to get this done this morning before she comes over.

Tia,
Cindy

I haven't used the reinker to color ribbon, but I would think that if you put the ribbon on a plate or a bowl, something so the ink won't run onto the table/counter, you could put the ribbon down and put a few drops on the ribbon as you move the ribbon across the plate/bowl, you would probably have to dry it with the heat tool or a blow dryer, if you need to use it right away. Sorry I can't be more help, I have only died ribbon using the ink pad and dragging the ribbon across the pad, it is messy, but it looks wonderful when done. Good luck.

I have used a Tim Holtz Distress ink pad and simply rubbed it across the ribbon. That worked great. I have also seen it done where a person put a couple of drops or re-inker in a ziplock bag with the ribbon, and sort of smooshed it around. I think you can also color it with Copic markers. Best of luck to you!

I tried to dye whisper white to apricot appeal. I used a sponge and an ink spot. Unfortunately I noticed some bleeding of the color onto the card base later so be careful. But, I did not let it dry overnight before I put it on the card. Good luck.

I use the Tim Holtz stains to color ribbon....Just swipe it across...Not sure if the purples are the shade you need though. I haven't tried the reinker, but know inkpads work with distress ink..

I have died ribbons with re- inkers by placing ribbon in a ziplock baggie - lightly misting with water then adding a few drops of re-inker in the baggie and smoosh that around. Take ribbon out, lightly dab at extra liquid and let dry. I think, if you have a lot of ribbon to dye maybe adding a few drops of the re-inker to water in a mister bottle and spray.
My 2cents
Good luck!
