I need to find out what is the best photo editing software out there. I have so many digital picutres and would like to edit some of them. Any Ideas please send my way. Thanks for all your help
I use MGI Photo Suite, Picture It! Express 9, and Microsoft Picture Manager. My mom edits pictures professionally and I think she uses Adobe software, unless she's changed since I last checked.
I have quite a few different photo editing softwares, but I definitely prefer Adobe PhotoShop. With Photoshop you have the choice of using some of the automatic adjustments, or you can really fine tune your photos manually.
I also use and love Adobe Elements 2. I bought the "for dummies" book to go with it and it teaches everything. I highly recommend getting them together.
I added grass to this photo. It's not great but it was my first attempt.
My photography buff DH says Photoshop is the best editor, but it's pricey. For the average user, you can get 75-85% functionality in Adobe Photoelements 3.0 for about 1/4 of the price. Hope that helps.
Another vote for Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0. I'm an editor for the digital issues of a scrapbooking magazine, so I've had the chance to work with everything out there... I even have full-version Photoshop installed on my system but almost always use Elements instead (it uses fewer system resources). Most of the submissions we get are done with PSE and there are TONS of helpful Web sites, tutorials, books, etc. out there that make the learning curve much smoother! Good luck choosing what works best for you!
I use Microsoft Picture It, Digital Image Pro, and Paint Shop Pro to do all my picture stuff. Below are just a couple examples of what I've used these programs to do. You can also view the scrapbooking pages in my gallery - I do a lot of digital stuff with those before I print them also!
I use Paint Shop Pro 7. I love the ease of working with this. You can adjust all kinds of things on your photos. My favorite tool is the clone tool where you can replicate anything in the picture to delete or fill in areas. When I scan my cards, the most used tools are the rotate, crop and resize. All are super easy with this program. Adding the copyright is also easy.

My DH is a graphic designer so we have every program made by Adobe. He swears by it and it and it was exclusively on the Mac until I discovered adobe Photoshop album. It is so amazing. I have always used iPhoto, which is very similar to Picasa but the new Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0 is so rad. My favorite feature is the calendar view, which organizes your photos into a calendar depending on the date the photo was taken. It has been so awesome for scrapbooking. I cannot even gush on it enough.

I use Microsoft Picture It. Not as powerful as Photo Shop, but it came with my computer, so in a sense it was free. It's very easy to use and does a great job for me.
