Default Difference in SU embossing powders??

I want to order some embossing powder and noticed that SU has 2 kinds. The detail powder is half the size but the same price. Will the regular EP work for most projects or should I spend the extra $$ and get the detail powder? I don't have any specific projects in mind so I don't know which stamp sets I'll be using.

TIA

Regular will work for most projects. I use the detailed on stuff that has a lot of detial to it. Also, if I am going do emboss any words. Hope this helps.

Karen - Just my opinion, but I'd get the detailed. There was a similar thread about this very thing not long ago. I searched for it, but I can't find it! I use my Detail EP a lot. It's thinner and tends to look more elegant. I have all of them, and am working on the regular EP's now. I started with White and Clear detail, and used them for everything while adding to my collection.

I have the regular embossing powder, but was wishing for the detailed powder for this card. The details of the snowflake would have shown up much better I think if I'd had the detail embossing powder.

Take a look at the kinds of stamps you have. If you tend to have more that have fine detail, then I'd go for the detail embossing powder because it will work on the chunkier stamps also.

Just my 2 cents.

I have non-SU brand EP but let me tell you a little jar goes a LONG way so I would put the money into the ultra detail. I use it on everything. it looks much crisper more defined than the regular EP.

I only have detailed EP. Then no matter what stamp I have to do it will turn out great!! The little extra $$ is costs for the detailed is well worth it in the results

I agree!! Go for the detailed. It's well worth the investment. I've had ep bottles that I've had for over a year and use all the time. They are still essentially full. I used regular until a week ago and now would never go back.

I would go with the detailed too - I have the black white and silver and love the crispness that the detail gives me

Plus if you are an occasional embosser 1/2 ounce will last you a long long time.

I did 50+ christmas cards last year with a big X-mas tree stamp with the silver EP plus many many other cards and still have over 1/2 the jar left

Definitely detail! It goes a LOOOOOOOOOOONG way. How long? Well, my SIL just clear-detail-embossed 100 wedding invitations (all the verbage, on vellum, from the printer) with one container of detail and still had lots left!

HTH!

Happy Stampin'!
