Default Denatured alcohol vs regular alcohol

Why is denatured alcohol better than regular alcohol in reviving your spectrum noir markers?
I have been using regular alcohol with good results, but am wondering if the denatured lasts longer before you have to revive it again or what is the reason for the denatured?

From what I could find by googling is that denatured alcohol is just regular rubbing alcohol that has added "poisons" so that people don't drink it.

That is true about denatured alcohol, Cat. And also, I read that regular "rubbing alcohol" has about 30% water added to it.

Logic tells me that is why the denatured alcohol works better and is recommended to revive alcohol markers.
