Default How do you store your ribbbon pieces?

I have lots of ribbon that I've gotten in swaps, etc that aren't on spools and am not sure how to store them. Please help me with your creative ways to keep ribbon neat and accessible.

Thanks in advance,
Tiffany

I purchased an embroidery floss container. It has divided sections that hold paper or plastic 'spools' that are used to wind the floss around but I think they work great for ribbon and fibers too. This way you can see all of your ribbon at a glance, assuming it fits into 1 container!

Default Storing ribbon

I cover the cardboard from an empty roll of paper towels with white computer paper, then rap the ribbon around the roll.

I store the rolls in a shoe box. It keeps them from getting wrinkled and it's easy to see at a glance what colors I have.

Good idea, I'll have to try that. My ribbon is stuffed in a Wal-Mart bag :?

i suppose you could even use the paper towel roll as your spool, and hang it on a dowel rod like some do with ribbon spools

I store mine in large freezer plastic bags by color. And then when I need a certain color, I just grab the bag and put on my work table. I have all of my multi-colors in one bag and it is usually grabbed as well.

Default Storing Ribbons ...

Just read the post about the embroidery floss containers ... what a wonderful solution. It also falls into the "duh ... why didn't I think of that" category. Thanks so much from a brand-new member. I'm lovin' this website!!!

Skeins of fiber get wrapped on a paper towel roll. Scraps go in a jar....with a screw top lid. I can't seem to throw ANYTHING away!

I store my larger spools of ribbon on their original spools and then ona dow rod attached to som e shelving I have in my craft room.

I store smaller spools of ribbon in divided drawers of my paper cabinet. Its almost like the drawers were made to fit them perfectly.

I keep my fibers in a embroidery case (as do many do from reading above).

i love the p. towel idea though.

Wow... another great idea gathered from SCS. Imagine that!
