Maybe I am challenged Im not sure but does anyone have an issue with the create a cupcake set and punch? I feel I am wasting alot of paper by only cutting out the one piece at a time that i need and the rest is left unused. Can you tell me how you guys are using this set to make it work?

I cut a strip a little wider than the part I want punch out and then stamp on that (leaving enough room so that I don't cut part of the image off when I punch) and then punch it. There is going to be some waste no matter what due to the design but it works well enough for all of the multi part punches for me. You also need to pay attention to which side the part you want is on and that determines whether you stamp on the left or right and which direction you come into the punch on. I want to start doing videos on my blog...this might be a good one to start with huh? :-)
I just saw on a blog where they arrange the stamps on block, then make a template and then punch out, it saves alot of paper, will go see if I can find the blog again.
ok, found my print out, but not the blog yet with pics. Hope this makes sense.
Punch images on card stock to make a template.
Align clear stamps over template and then secure position by placing acrylic block over top.
Stamp images...
Will keep looking for blog for you.
would love some more tips for using the stamps and punch together. I haven't used mine yet, but want to!
I did get a tip from my demo, which is to NOT punch out just one of the areas in the punch using scraps, as this will dull the punch. She said that you should always punch the entire image, so one area of the punch doesn't get more dull than another, it'll keep your punch working longer.
I had also thought of using the punch out area as a template to line up the stamps, but I have the wood mounted set, so I don't think this will work for me. I could try using the stampamajig, but that seems kind of like it would be a pain and take a while to stamp all the punched pieces this way.
Just wondering if anyone else has any ideas for using these products. I love them, and would love more ideas on where to start!

I'm buying the stamp set but not the punch. I'm pretty good at cutting with my paper snips, and don't see the need for the punch. I'll save myself more than 16.95 for another stamp set that way. Seriously, for a lot of SU punches like the Cupcake punch, owl punch and the bird and stems punch, those lines are pretty easy to cut out yourself. Invest in the paper snips and you won't need as many punches.

I've never heard of that either - I wonder where she got that info. I punch just the part I want out of scraps all the time and have never had a problem with my punches getting dull.

Personally I don't think I'll ever use my punch enough to dull it:-)
