...am I the only one that doesn't have them? I have a Cuttlebug and that's it. Sometimes I feel like everyone but me has a Cricut and a BIA and a Scor-Pal and a Xyron, etc, etc. Maybe that's why my cards are so simple in design! lol!
I have a Crop-a-Dile (big one) Cricut and a Scorepal, have no idea what a BIA is and I don't have the Scal program because Cricut does not have it for the Mac yet. I only buy the toys that make my life easier or save me money. Those and the big 12" Tonic cutter are the best investments I ever, ever made!

Do you find that you use the Crop-a-Dile quite often? There are several items I've thought about buying, but could never justify the cost because I didn't think I'd use them enough. I've just recently started using more eyelets and my manual punch set is sort of awkward and doesn't always set them very nice (crinkles the paper, etc), so I've thought about getting a Crop-a-Dile to make that a bit easier.
Oh! Sorry...BIA is how I've seen Bind-it-All abreviated...
Having is good I'm sure, I have way more than I need...USING them is better! I have a brand new QK Silhouette SD sitting on my desk and have not touched it since I bought it...Along with the BIA, BK, SK, CB, I do use my Scor-Pal all the time...I need to quit collecting and start using!

I think I'm just sitting here looking at all the really cool/fancy cards that are made with die-cuts on a Cricut and I see tutorials using a Scor-Pal and I see the beautiful coloring done with Copics and I'm feeling sorry for myself 'cause I can't afford them! lol!
I have over used the Crop-a-Dile! I love the big one. I bought the small one the day it was available and gave it to my daughter when the big one came out. The only problem i have had is the tinsy itty bitty eyelets and flat top thingys (i can't remember what they are called! i haven't used them in a looong time).
I have punch holes in belts, shoes, through every thickness of leather and my husband has used it for his fabric samples (sell church pew and church pew accessories) . I would not give that thing up for love nor money!
I am not such a fan of Copics...first, they leave the color on the back so you have to mount what you color or your inside looks all bad...(it is from an old Home Ec teacher, inside must look good enough to wear on the outside--and then I taught Home Ec for 30 years!)
I like the gamsol (OMS) and the Kohinoor (sic) pencils personally. I get just as good with those.

There are days that I feel that way too. I do find that not having the toys makes me have to be creative. I don't have a die cutting machine, but I do have scissors. I don't have any embossing machine, but there are ways to emboss using my stylus. The extent of my toys is my paper cutter, some punches, a paper crimper, a heat gun and my newest toy that my friend Anne (Ardodd) gave me, a brayer. That's it.
When I get bored of what I am doing, I look for a new technique to use what I do have. Some of the earlier TRY A NEW TECHNIQUE CHALLENGES are a good place to start, since some of the new toys weren't available then. I also like looking at the RESOURCES section to get ideas.

I know what you mean, I really do!! I was soooo excited to find an OLD post the other day where someone figured out how to make a punch similar to the SU! tab punch just using a circle punch instead! I love it since I can't get myself to actually buy the SU! punch (again cause I can't justify that I'd use it enough!).

Actually, I did buy the Kohinoors a while back since someone else had recommended them as cheaper alternatives (got them at Michael's with a 50% coupon, so only paid around $12.50!). I'm using just a blender pen right now, but did buy baby oil and blending pencils to try....
I'll have to try to pick up a crop-a-dile next time I have a good coupon - I think Joanns and Michaels both carry them now....
By the way....thank you everyone for letting me whine! lol!
I do have the Big Shot and love it, also the Scor-Pal and love it too and punches and such and dies but I do not want anything I have to plug in and also nothing that has to be attached to a computer.
Only things that are manual. Yes, I have a Crop-A-dile, can't say I use it much. I prefer brads to eyelets.
I was at my fave LSS a while ago and the owner was showing me all the new things for BIA. I told her I didn't have one and she couldn't believe it -- I guess I'm know as quite the gadget hoarder. Still buying but less as I don't have any money and still making a list when new things come out. I use most, if not all, of the stuff I buy, even "oddities" like hot melt pot, Hot Marks tool, grommets and setting kit to name a few.

I have a BS, Cuttlebug, Scor Pal, Cropadile, All the nesties, but no bind it all. I am just not interested in that. I used to have a Cricut..but it sat unloved so I sold it and all the 36 cartridges I just had to have...lol
blessings.
I have a Cuttlebug, a few dies/folders for it, and lots of punches. And a decent paper cutter. Although I'd love a machine that could cut all sorts of shapes and boxes (for mass-producing party favors and such), I'm deterred by the thought of having to learn another electronic gadget! I'm still trying to figure out my simple digital camera...I just hate reading those manuals!!
I have more tools than I need but the ones I really love and use a lot are my Big Shot/Nestabilities, Scor-Pal and Copics. My teen daughter has used my Cricut A LOT for school projects, like making posters, but I haven't used it all that much. It's more for scrapbooking than cardmaking, IMO.
No you are not alone. I, also, only have a Cuttlebug. We may be the only 2 in the crafting world but at least we are not alone;).
Whew - it's so good to know I'm not alone! lol!
I just get a bit overwhelmed sometimes. I LOVE crafting (you know, when I can find the time!), but feel like I'm limited in what I do because I don't have all the gadgets. It's like MariLynn posted earlier - I guess that just forces me to try to be more creative!!

I think a BIA is a Bind it all, but I have no idea what it is or what it does either. Can someone enlighten us, please?

A bind it all is a binding machine - it allows you to make your own books by punching the holes through cardstock, chipboard, etc, then placing the wire bindings on it all to hold it together.
I sold my cricut. I never used it and needed a nice 17inch laptop with blu-ray, lol. I do have the bigshot which I love etc. I have the bind it all but never used it. I'm going to have to list it to get it out of my scraproom eventually. I'm trying to clean out.
I only have a Cuttlebug too! I never really had an urge to get a Cricut, BIA, Slice etc... I do, however, LOVE my Scor-Pal and my Copics...I have gotten my money out of them for sure!!

OH, I see! Thanks so much for telling us what a BIA is. Now that I think about it, that makes sense what it does and why it's called that!
Hey Toni. I have a Cuttlebug, a scor-pal and a rarely used crop-a-dile. I don't feel the need to go hog wild and get a bunch of other stuff and like you, I can't afford the copics. I am sure they are swell and all but I just can't justify spending that kind of money on markers.
For the record, I think your cards are great.
Okay, I have another dumb question. What are nesties? I hear about them all the time, and I'm assuming that they are some type of tool that cuts circles, ovals, and such. How do you use them? Are they used with a cuttlebug?
I have a cricut expressions and I was hoping that I could use that for cutting out ovals and such, but I don't know how or what cartridge to use (maybe I don't have the right cartridge). I'm mainly looking for scalloped shapes.
And how do you make the smaller embossed oval inside a cut out oval, like in this card:

Not a dumb question at all! The card you linked to used 2 sets of nesties - one from the scallop oval set and one from the regular oval set. Nesties are metal "dies" that you can use with the cuttlebug, big shot etc. to cut out shapes. A set comes with multiple dies that "nest" inside each other, i.e. each one is just a bit larger so you can easily mat. You can cut shapes with the cricut, but you will not be able to get the embossing like what you get with the nesties.

Thank you so much Joan for explaining this to me. I sort of thought I knew what nesties were, but I wanted to ask to be sure.
Do you know what cartridge will give me the shapes that I am looking to cut, like ovals, circles, squares, etc.? Is there a Cricut cartridge that will cut scalloped shapes?

Now that I think about it, I'm not sure if there is a cricut cartridge that does the scallops.... I know there are some that have regular shapes. I'll have to look.

Thanks, Joan! If you find any that does please let me know
If you have Mini Monograms, you can use it to cut nested scalloped circles and squares. Alphalicious cuts nested scalloped ovals. And Base Camp cuts nested scalloped rectangles.
Hope that helps!

Are Mini Monograms, Alphalicious, and Base Camp Cricut Cartridges?
I don't have EVERYTHING, but I have a lot. I'm the type of person who sees something new and cool and I'm like I WANT IT!!!!!!!!!
I have:
Bind-it-all
Cuttlebug
CB Dies and folders
Crop-a-dile
Slice
QK Silhouette
Scor-pal
200+ Copics
Nesties
NOW... ask me what i use on a daily basis:
Copics
Scor-pal
(and semi-regularly)
Cuttlebug with nesties.. not the folders so much or the CB die cuts
so there. that's a lesson.

You don't have to have all the cool toys to make cool cards!
But, they're fun! And, they can often make certain things a lot easier!
I don't have everything (got a budget like most folks I know), but, what I do have, I seem to get a great deal of use out of, and I like to play with them--and, I deliberated quite a long time before getting them because I wanted to be sure I would use them cuz, not only to validate the investment in my own head, but, well, I just hate when cool stuff collects dust! LOL!
I have:
Big Shot (use their dies, Cuttlebug dies and embossing folders, and Spellbinder dies)
Scor-Pal (making boxes and multi-folded projects is so much easier)
Xyron machine(s)
Crop-a-dile
Slice
And, I never (I mean, NEVER) thought I'd get a Slice. But, dang, that thing is slick, easily portable, and takes up very little storage space. I only have 2 design cards for it right now, but more on the way . . . LOL! What can I say?
Do I "need" all those to make a great card? Nope. But, like I said . . . *chuckle*

I don't have a Cricut, a BIA, a Scor-Pal, OR a Xyron either!!! I also don't have any Copics or Nestabilities!!!
I do have a Cuttlebug and a Crop-a-dile, which I LOVE. I hated setting eyelets before I got a Crop-a-dile. I also have some of those big Marvy punches, which I use all the time. Oh oh oh!!! I also have the ATG gun, which I also love and use daily. *grin*
I'm thinking that in three years, I will buy some Copics. Also, some Nestabilities. I am usually two or three years behind in the trends. But this way, by the time I get around to buying the things, they are never back-ordered. *grin*
