Has anyone else had problems with the punches from the new crafters tool kit? Mine seems like you have to hammer the snot out of it to get it to go through even just a piece of cardstock and a piece of vellum. I have to do 75 wedding invitations and each has a vellum overlay attached with eyelets....yikes! I called DS and they are sending new ones and said they hadn't heard of any problems with it. Just wondered if I had a bad batch or what.
Are you using it on a hard surface? I have to go in the bathroom and use the counter top in there. I have one of the Sam's club tables. I only have to hit it once if I go in the bathroom. It is next to my stamp room. I hope that helps.
Yep, it has to be on a hard, SOLID surface. IE: if you have a wooden block on a card table, you'll still have the same problems, but use a wooden block or a self-healing mat or even a magazine on top of a counter or very sturdy table and it'll punch right through.
There's an awesome board actually for that! I had gotten it at the Scrapbooking Expo in NJ, it's called an embellishmat, and it makes it so much easier to use the punch and the eyelet tools. This is the website...
