Cool Cookbook

Have any of you ladies put together a cookbook with decorated pages? Perhaps you have a blog or gallery that shows pictures?

I have been working on a 8x8 album for several months for my dd. I found some pretty ring albums at the Dollar Store, started picking out recipes. Took some recipe cards to family members, dug around in some old family cookbooks. Put in some old family favorites, then took a few pages for holiday favorites. My chili recipe page turned out cute, on bandana paper , Texas embellishments. This will also be a momento, in year's to come, seeing my mother's handwriting preserved.

Her birthday is in March, I really should finish this. lol

No but I've been wondering about what to give my niece for her bridal shower... thanks for the idea!

I have not put one together but I will tell you I have pictures in my cookbooks of my kids when they were small and they tried the recipe for the first time giving it a thumbs up or down.=) Then I have newspaper clipings of events that I took the dish or dessert to so I always have a memory to go with the recipe I even have footnotes in my cookbooks of the first time I made it and for what then there is always a comment if it wasn't that great of a recipe When I share a recipe I always share the little secrets like what kind of butter or margine I use or what I cook it in a glass pan or nonstick just the little tricks that make the recipe the way I do. So maybe when you throw yours together that might be something you take into consideration let the recipient know how much love you really put into the book and into your cooking =) I love cookbooks I go to garage sales and estate sales just for the cookbooks. Any how good luck with it ~~bluegirl~~ oh make sure whom ever you are making it for likes to cook and what they like to cook for example 30 min. meals , you know quick and easy or if they dont mind spending time in the kitchen. I know some people dont want to have to stand over a stove all day and some well they love that kind of stuff then their are some that all they like to do is the desserts and not meals I hope this helps out some.
