besides SU where would you get clear checkbook covers. A friend of mine wants to get them for her Sunday School class. They want the kids to make pictures for mom for Mother's day.
I told her I would ask around. I figure if anyone would know it would be this board.

clear check book covers
I believe we got them at clearbags.com
They weren't as thick as the ones we sell through SU! but they would be perfect for the children to make. I think we paid around .10 a piece.
Good luck!!

I just went to Michaels and bought a bunch of the 1.00 pocket calendars. They have the clear plastic sleeve that is the same as my checkbook cover, just a little thinner. But it would be cheap and just fine for kids to work with .
I bought 4 for $1.00 (pocket calendars) at a discount store/ dollar store. you could use the covers and throw the calendars out. They are the same size as SU!'s I am sure you could find them cheap. Good luck!
They are the nicest quality that I've found, work for regular checks AND duplicates, and sell for $.85 each. They also sell check registers and the small debit/credit card folders.
Someone posted the site before and they will even send you a free clear checkbook cover as a sample. I actually received 2 in less than a week after I requested one!! Very nice!!!

It's all a matter of price and preference, but IMHO:
I haven't found a calendar with a clear cover that was the same size as checkbook covers, though keeping them as calendars (instead of replacing the calendar with a checkbook) works well. The vinyl seems extremely thin on the calendar covers, especially the inexpensive ones, so they don't hold up well with the extra handling things get if they are carried around regularly.
Stamping Up! checkbook covers are clear and sturdy, but are for single checks instead of duplicate checks.
The checkbook covers I bought from cistamps were extremely stinky, even by vinyl standards. I tried airing them out, but after several days I resorted to isolating them in a ziplock bag. Their smell made my stamping room very unpleasant to walk into. Just touching them leaves my hands stinky. Maybe it was old inventory, and I've enjoyed other things I've bought from them.
I'm happiest with the checkbook covers from clearbags.com. If you have reason to order as many as 100 of the duplicate check style they are only .50 each. Smaller quantities jump up to 1.00 each. Their book mark covers are the best deal I've seen anywhere--the style I ordered were only .10 each. They send free samples and a paper catalog, if requested. As I recall, they even have real live people answer the phone.
I'm glad to see the other sources on this thread and will be checking them out to see what they have to offer!

WOW, wish I had this a few days ago!!! I did find some at youstampit.com.
Should get them soon. Wanted them for duplicate checks!
I have one done in my gallery. Turned out cute. Will be a project for me non-card workshop at our local library. (FYI, I am not a demo so I can get away with buying them elsewhere!!!)
