Default Christmas Present help.

Ok Stampers I need some help ok what I want to do is put together a family night gift for my brother in law his wife and there son (2 and 1/2) and my best friend her husband and there son (almost 4), somthing that they have to do together so what I was thinking was a fun board game or maybe a movie and some snacks.
But then I thought it would be fun to use a paint can in it some how maybe an idea for a family night once a week or once a month or somthing in it any way so I am looking for some ideas on how to put this together or fun things you like to with your kids I do not want to spend to much like $30 or less any advice would be great thank you.

Thank you
Amanda

The only idea I can come up with for the moment would be cards. Seems like when my children were that young you could buy decks that had something on them (like colors or shapes or animals) and to play you matched the cards.

Another thought just occured to me ~ how about matchbox cars?

...or a subscription to Family Fun magazine. You can go to the bookstore and buy the first copy to put in the paint can until they start receiving them in the mail. (Another good magazine for young children is My Big Backyard but Family Fun is wonderful for a host of things to do together.)

Hope these ideas get you started. I think your idea is very thoughtful.

Bag of bird seed for going to feed the ducks? Craft items that they can do together? A small game?

Dice games, would be another neat idea, along with cards. I have a few games if you want to PM I can type them up and give them to you. Also with cards you could include a crib board. My little cousin learned how to play this summer the children just need to know how to count to 15 and the parents can help them. Dominoes is another fun family game. Skip Bo and Wizard are two other card games you can buy at Walmart for not much. Hope these ideas help...oh and you can even stamp small images on the dominoes. Have fun.

A little older than for the 2.5 year old, but my DD learned to play UNO at 4 and loves it.

Our youngest began playing dominoes at 2-1/2 and still at 15 enjoys this game. Our 20 year old just left a few minutes ago to return to school but he managed to talk us into playing dominoes several times this trip home.

The Mexican Train game is the "version" we actually play, using the Double 12's set. HTH, Goodluck!!!
