somehow I really thought the next VSN was in June... so this totally caught me by surprise, will go peek.
this week Kia is guest hosting in the IC and she has picked a really pretty nail art board to peek at.

The summer VSN is earlier this year. Lee figured with states opening up, people may not want to stay inside later this summer! 😂
That makes sense.
Our weather has been doing the yo-yo thing here lately, its been 90's today we will be lucky to hit 60. so, a good day to be upstairs.
Our Featured Stamper is Chrysi McDonald! Chrysi has a wonderful gallery and she leaves wonderful comments on cards! There are several ways we can celebrate Chrysi this week! We can leave some comments on her gallery, we can congratuate her in the challenge thread and/or we can CASE one of her cards and play in the challenge!
The Technique Challenge this week is the Shaving Cream Technique but with Brushos! I like this one because I HAVE Brushos. I don't have good colors of reinkers for the traditional Shaving Cream Technique.
Raise your hand if you have done any type of shaving cream technique for an art project. If you have one you especially love, link it so we can see it too!
I like the shaving foam technique and have done it frequently but never with brushos so looking forward to trying it. Here's one I did where I really love the shaving foam sky:
Hello everyone! We have a brand new challenge at SCS! How exciting is that? You can find Watecolor Wednesday HERE. Years from now it will be fun to be able to say we remember playing in the very first WW Challenge! Hope to see your beautiful art work in the gallery!
Here is the link to the Sketch Challenge! The gallery is filling up!
Yes, the watercolor challenge is such a fun, easy challenge today. I want to make another card but no time today.

Have you played in any challenges this week? Are you planning on creating with the inspiration from a SCS Challenge this weekend?
If you entered a challenge, link the favorite card you created card this week!
So I couldn't choose betwee two of mine. Here's why:
I just love Sending Love because of the happy colors but also I will always remember that I entered the very 1st Watercolor Wednesday Challenge with this one!
And this one is my favorite because, I mean, Ginny is darling and I had so much fun creating a bleached background with crystals, something I had never used before.
Angie you could scribble on a brown paper bag and your cards would still look fabulous AND I absolutely know that you would photograph it perfectly. I tried getting artistic with staging a card the other day and DH walked in and asked if I needed a hand moving all that "stuff" out of the way.
I am still working on Sabrina's fun shaving foam challenge from Monday and bleach challenge from Thursday. I love the new watercolour challenge, that gallery looks magic Gallery at Splitcoaststampers. Thanks so much to you, Kia, Brenda and Linda for starting this.

Please don't take your organs to heaven - heaven knows we need them here.
I had an exceptionally busy week - next week will be also a busy week in work with another big project on the go - although DH and I both have Monday and Tuesday off, so we have a mini home break.
So most of the cards I uploaded were samples I had already made last weekend - but my peony card for Thursday was inspired by seeing other creations uploaded on Monday. The only card fully fresh off the blocks was the Long-Stemmed sympathy. I'm hoping to make something for Dina's MIX today - with a high wind alert and the temperatures half what they were last Saturday, cosying up is just what I need. But I also have a list of cards I need, an anniversary card for my sis, a graduation type card for the daughter of a work colleague...
The watercolour challenge looks great, and I'm sad that being realistic about the pressures of time and work means that I probably won't get to it.
well, so far I painted a pile of leaves because, I wanted to and a couple made it onto an IC sample And on Wednesday I made TWO watercolor backgrounds one on water color paper ( its mostly flat but, one of the three colors is off) and one on textured cardstock that warped right up to a curl. ( so they are being pressed) and I think I am going to set the wc paper one aside and try it again, with the change being to pick out a stamp first and then pick colors to make the background with. ( the colors I chose were mermaid lagoon and seedless preserves which are happy bright plays well together colors and then I added in some speckled egg which is too grey and pale and blah with them to me, and this does not make me think of a single stamp that would look good on this ha ha.
I did find that the more water that was added to the ink puddles the better flow it had on the paper and I used a plastic baggie that some ink was shipped in to me, it mostly worked like a resist for picking up the ink though so, I think the type of sheet you use to try to transfer it matters a little bit.
I played in three challenges this week, which is a new record for me: Teapot Tuesday, Color Challenge, and the CAS. This was my first time participating in the CAS challenge. And, that would be my favorite card this week. Here's the link: Blue Because (of) Benzi by DebbieinOC - at Splitcoaststampers
I had so much fun with the dog and cat cards the past couple weeks in the Teapot Challenge that I am planning on making some cards for the Cards for a Cause June Mission this weekend.
Susie, you are so sweet to me! A lot of my work goes in the trash so you give me more praise than I deserve but I love you for it! Hugs! I am a super fan of you and your art!
Sabrina, your samples are amazing! It takes time to create your incredible masterpieces.
Stacy, your leaves are absolutely stunning! I could have looked at your leaves all day!
DebbieinOC I love your Blue Because of Brenda card! So beautiful and oh the lovely sparkle!
I have my granddaughters with me this week, so I'm not spending much time SCS. I did manage some crafting with them, though. I made a card for the Crinkled Chalk challenge...fun and easy. My 5 year old granddaughter claimed my card right away to give to her mom and dad! LOL
My favorite color combos are bright or contrasting colors: red, black and white. I like deep blue and white.

The Teapot Challenge is Pink & Purple. The destination is a five year breast cancer survivor but now has bone cancer. She also recently had to have hip surgery and is recovering. She could really use some cheer!
My favorite colors are blue and green so I try to use them often in combination or separately. But mostly my colors are dictated by the recipients' favorites.
To answer your question, Angie, my favourite colour combination is blue and white - I've loved it my whole life.
I'm so behind on challenges - I've been working in the garden a lot as the weather has been perfect but we've now started a few days of rain so hope to get a few challenges done. You asked earlier what our favourite card was that we did last week - mine was this one and guess what, it's blue and white!!

Could someone tell me where the WWC is listed. I don't see it on the front challenge page?
If you do not find a link, go the the Challenges section and bring the list up. You can scroll down and find it. I discovered this earlier this morning.
