I get so sad when people get snarky with each other...especially on this site where we are all connected by our love of stamping/scrapping.
So in the spirit of kindness I will share my 2-cent's worth: If I wanted to see more about products, I guess I would devote some time Googling and finding the company websites where they usually have better photos of all their stuff...and I think that all the SCS'ers are doing a great job balancing out their shots of products/projects with shots of each other (which I think are REALLY fun to see.)
In a way, I'm actually glad the OP expressed her opinion. It reminded me to THANK all the SCS folks at CHA (and those here running the gallery and doing everything behind the scene) for everything you're doing! I had forgotten to do that until I saw this post.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
And, for the record, I love the pictures of the people, some of whom I've been lucky enough to meet in person (okay, not Martha, but many others)
Just another grateful onlooker here---since I cant actually go to the show, it is so much fun to see some sneak peeks from my home! Thanks to the whole gang who is there and spending their time and efforts to give us all a look! :0)

I would never get a chance to see CHA as a busy mom of five! I'm so glad to see Julie, Daven and others having a great time and telling us all about their adventures. Thanks guys!! Love the pics and the peeks! Thanks for taking the time to share with us!
Wow..well considering you would have been seeing squat since you're not there, I'd say you're doing quite well to get what you get..just my opinion, of course...
Ditto!
I'm not following the blog, but I say just be happy you have *anything*! The fine folks at SCS don't have to do all that they do for us!
Way to make a new person feel welcomed! A little less snarkiness would have been better.
I agree with the op. I had hoped for more product pics and Julie and Daven's thoughts on the new stuff that is coming out & less people pics. That way I would not have to go to other sites looking for the stuff!

I'm not disappointed at all - I am just happy to start writing a list of things to look for at the March scrapbook convention in Portland
(If I can wait that long before breaking the bank)
Oh, Oh, Oh....me too. Scrapbook convention is in June. Just in time for my anniversary.
and
I think the SCS crew is doing a great thing. Thanks

I agree, Suzanne. I thought everyone's opinion was valued here. Disagreeing is one thing, but downright nastiness is quite another.

Thanks. This site never ceases to amaze me. I hate posting but as I was reading through all the nasty replies I kept hoping and hoping that someone would come to the OPs aid. Sheesh
I, personally, was very satisfied with the post this last weekend of internet sites that showed all the closeup pictures of the products, by the splitcoast members. So I could, also
make a list, of what to look for. Doing a search of the posts for CHA
should bring back that posting, there were a lot of pages to view, and tons of closeups. Carolyn

I have a question though and while it might come across snarky, it's not meant that way. I noticed that you have your own blog, do other people tell you what content to put on it and what not to?
Not everyone's reaction to an opinion is going to be sugary sweet nicey nice.
I am having a blast reading Julie's posts on CHA. She is so darn entertaining. The items she has shown have been excellent closeup pics -- the pictures of the others she has visited with is interesting (I kind of like to match faces with names).
While I can understand (and respect) the OP's opinion, I feel that specifically starting a thread just to voice her disappointment was not only ungrateful, but just downright rude. I'm sure most of us know that 'If you can't say anything nice...' ;) OP, if you feel SCS's coverage of CHA is such a major disappointment, as others have stated, there's plenty of other places on the web to get the info you're looking for. Specifically starting a thread here just to complain about it doesn't do anything but hurt feelings and breed negativity.
That said, I am happy for any CHA crumbs they choose to throw our way. I realize that none of us are entitled to see anything from CHA, and the fact that those who run this site took time out of their busy lives to attend, document, and generously share any info at their discretion says a lot.
Probably shouldn't have said it, but there's my .02 anyway. LOL ;)
There are some sites with scores of pictures of the new products. Aside from the Martha Stewart picture I feel the same about pictures of groups of women that I don't know all the in same pose one after the other. If you want pictures you can find them. I would link them but have a feeling that would not go over big here. Blogs led me to them--hint, hint. The new stuff has me giddy!! So many really cool new things.
I love seeing all those pretty faces - it's nice to pay a name with a face ... since I 'feel' like I know them (even though I realize I really don't know them...actually but it feels that way)...
The new stuff they show is very cool and all in all I wish there was some way I could go to CHA myself but since I do not qualify it 's just marshmellow hugs to D and Crew for taking us there!

So far I've been very disappointed with the
SCS coverage. At this point most of the pics have been of individuals-- sorry folks I would rather be looking at the booths and NEW PRODUCTS
just a side note... not too long ago Davin (Daven?) said he appreciated eveyrone expressing their opinions and he likes to hear all sides... so I don't think anyone should be afraid to express an opinion here. I think SCS as shown they want to know what we like/what we don't like.

The original OP joined in 2004. That't not a new person to me!

I don't think there has ever been a problem posting links to other sites... feel free to share it all good bad and ugly!

I will say it again... Davin has said he wants to hear all the opinions and everyone's opinion is important. It's sometimes hard to say something that is not the popular opinion or feel clobbered when you do say something... but I don't think SCS has ever asked us to censor our opinions. Just remember to add the two spoonfuls of sugar with it.
SCS can correct me if I'm wrong.. but that has always been my impression for reading Davins' posts when things get controversial.

Keep up the great work!
I especially love seeing the twinkle/sparkle in Julie's eyes - I think her eyes just say "I am a fun person" and you can see how much passion she has for paper and rubber!

Ya know, you kind of get what ya give. The original post sorta had a "tone." It felt like a criticism. People don't really like criticism, and don't really react well to it. Especially when people volunteer their time to keep this site going. The original poster has every right to express her opinion, but maybe next time she could think about doing it in a different way.
If she would have said, "Thank you for the CHA coverage! I would really love to see some more product." People would have reacted very differently to her post. I think being polite and thankful goes a LONG way.

How do things ever get better and truly meet the needs of the people if the people are only allowed to speak if they agree all the time?
While I can't speak for Daven, here, he has said before that he appreciates all feedback and definitely wants to hear if people have a difference of opinion.
The OP didn't say anything offensive; their point of view is that they want to see *more* pics of booths and products - less of people. Nothing wrong with saying that; it certainly isn't against the SCS Terms of Service. (FYI: There are some good paragraphs discussing difference of opinion and 'threadjacking'.)
So...back on topic.... can anyone else out there suggest ways on how to improve SCS's coverage? Or keep sharing what you like.
Please be civil and polite. Bring up your concerns in a mature and respectful manner. All we ask is that you treat us the way you would want us to treat you.
From the TOS. All I'm saying is you get what ya give. That's it. Done with this thread now.
BTW, loved all the great pictures and posts Julie.

No one has to agree all of the time, but as Kathryn said, why couldn't the OP have worded her post with more of a requesting tone vs. a negative complaining one? She's the one who set herself up for some snarky remarks & I honestly don't blame those of us who reacted the way we did.
If some people actually would read the blog, they would notice that a recent post stated the internet connection was difficult at times.
Again, there are pics in the gallery, Julie has a blog too. In time there will probably be a lot more products to view.
And yet again, if you've ever been to any kind of trade show - most are huge and you can't take pics of everything. You're getting their 'bird's eye view' of it & if you don't like it, see if there's another site that has what you want.
If she would have said, "Thank you for the CHA coverage! I would really love to see some more product." People would have reacted very differently to her post. I think being polite and thankful goes a LONG way.
Well said! ;) There's nothing wrong with voicing an opinion, but how you do it can make all the difference in the world.
I am a relatively new member to SCS... is this the first year that SCS is 'covering' CHA? (I couldn't find anything in the gallery to confirm or deny...) If so, keep in mind that all this is relatively new to them. Perhaps we could cut them a little slack by having realistic expectations and only offering constructive criticism with a grateful tone? ;)
I for one have loved the coverage that Julie & Daven and Sara and the others have given us on CHA. I've been sick this week and can't leave the house due to really bad air. We have the worst in the country, right now! I really enjoy Julie's take on things. If you will go to link listed and the side of the CHA blog you will see plenty of products. The links are fun to go to! I think that anything posted is just icing on the cake so to speak because normally I wouldn't be getting even cake! I'd prpbally be working and missin' out on the fun!!
I was plesantly suprised that we get any coverage at all. I didn't expect scs to be there, but am really glad they are! I have my own wish list for a friend who owns a lss for her when she gets back from cha. ;)
