Hopefully Amber (sprtchick) will visit this thread - she takes card fronts and mounts them on A2 cards and sends them to the troops. For a while she was asking anyone who had fronts they weren't using to send them to her.
I purchase white cardstock on sale (8.5x11), cut it in half, fold that in half so I have a basic card and glue the card front to it. In the case when there is a large top layer, I will peel the back off and glue it to the front of the folded card. Add an envelope. I have bundled 25 of these with the envelopes and put in a basket. A couple of years ago I gave several of these bundles as gifts for friends and grandmas. They loved having a bunch of all-occasion cards at their fingertips.
You could also do this and donate them to a retirement home, daycare, church... There are lots of places that would love them.
I sent a bunch to Linda (hotwheels) just recently - she uses them for charities and isn't able to make as many as she needs. I'd sent her cards before, but this time I PM-ed her to see would card fronts do, and she said yes. You could PM her and ask.
Hi Ladies...I do still provide lots and lots of cards to the troops...I have probably 10,000 card fronts to remount yet. I have been making a lot of cards myself just to try and put a small dent in all the supplies I have. I dont need any more card fronts for awhile but wanted to say this is a very rewarding ministry.
blessings.
Once you attach them to some cardstock you may want to contact nursing homes in your area. It might be nice for the residents of the homes to have access to them. The staff might also like to have them on hand to place on meal trays or in mailboxes to remind the residents that they are thought of on special occassions.
I also send cards to the troops. I belong to Adopt a Us Soldier. If you would like to get rid of them, I'll take them. I personally have 4 soldiers I adopted, then I send then cards to send to family, and the rest of the crew. Nothing I send is really for my 1 person, I always send for the crew. Just pm me if interested.

It is basically the pre-made front of the card that just needs to be adhered to a card base for mailing/use. Some times people make the fronts only and then share them with each other or do one of the try a new techniques or whatever and just do the layer that would normally adhere to a front but don't actually put it on a front yet. Boy--I think I am confusing myself here and I do actually understand what these are. ;) Hope that makes some sense
With OWH, there are certain rules before sending. All cards must be cards with envelopes, no fronts. Then you have to have OWH on the back of the cards. I have been sending them some also, but I prefer to send them to my soldiers. This way I get the feedback, and I know they reached my people. I'm not slamming OWH at all, here. It just seems like the OP wants to get rid of the fronts, not make cards with envelopes. Just my 2 cents. My offer still stands to take them, though. I can pay for shipping if it is an issue.
My hubby is deploying soon and my friends and I are going to supply cards for them to be able to send home. I would take them off your hands and make them into cards for the unit.
I think I might have bit off more then I can chew but at least I'll be busy when he's gone.
homestead, Have your hubby enroll with Adopt A US Soldier great program. he will get a few people to write to and send care packages. Everyone is so supportive.
Make sure he signs up on AnySoldier.com. People love to remember our soldiers by sending them any/everything they request on their profile! Our church confirmation kids have sent letters and care packages. The teens wrote letters and tucked them into blank greeting cards that the soldiers could use to send home to their loved ones. The site is very clear not to expect anything back from the soldiers. Its all for them!
I put all my card fronts that I don't use onto sturdy card stock and send them to cardsforheros.com
or my sister who's husband in the Marines, he then sends them overseas.

I've been sending cards to Operation Write Home for over a year now and I have never sent envelopes. Because I contribute regularly, I have the OWH stamp for the back, but I don't think they would turn down any contribution just because it didn't have that stamp. All the details are on their website Operation Write Home
I tried to donate 400 cards to our Ronald McDonald House here in Las Vegas but was also told very curtly they didnt want them.
Oh Well...the soldiers love them.

oh no, I'm not saying that they reject them. I was saying that they prefer them like they want them, if not, then they have to have the volunteers "fix" them.
