Okay, who started this post!?!
I'm torturing myself reading what's on the hit list for Retirement!
So many of you have listed some of my favorites!!
Thanks for the heads up clarifying the March special..I've been saying all the sets were new... and I agree, likely the whole lot will be retired just like those offered last year!
I'm having a good ole giggle at the 'creepy children' and other comments...has anyone mentioned Heads Up.
Which alphabets will go to make room for the collage one...crazy, quirky or classic caps (not similar but just to make room)
Hand stitched and sparkle backgrounds move over...
By design, rhyme time, stardust...
(Ladyjune makes a strong case, hope someone at SU is reading her comment... and as much as I love several of the sets mentioned there is good reasoning behind their listing...sadly!)
And thats all I'll add, so as not to offend too many people nor break too many hearts...
I can't believe we're already speculating and we have months to go!!
sigh...
Laurie

Well considering I just purchased the demo kit I hope none of the sets in it retire cause the reason I changed all the sets was because I already had them minus the party one. I know AYC has been around but I took the risk and got #2 so I hope you guys are wrong on that one. I can't take any guesses right now cause frankly I'm just too tired to think that hard but I know there are some that I just think are ugly that I hope go.

Ladybug Picnic (replaced by Web Wishes)
I doubt that. Ladybug Picnic was added to compliment Cute as a Bug and is a year round set. Web Wishes is a Halloween Set Only. Not to mention it was only added this year and they promoted the heck out of the thing before the new catalog.

And I really hate to say it, but as much as we hate the COTC/Charming Children set, I bet it's back since it's only been a year.

I haven't really looked to closely at the catty to decide what sets should go. BUT IN MY HUMBLE OPINION...

GET RID OF THOSE "CHARMING KIDS". They just scare the b-jeebers out of me. Don't get me wrong I really like kids but as somebody else posted.. they look like children of the corn! Sorry guys that like this set but I personally can't even turn to the page that set is on. They creep me out! Got to get back to work so I can keep making money for new stamp stuff!

I'm curious as to why people think so many sets that are brand new this year, i.e. Wildfowl, would be gone so quickly. I love that set and have requests from my Aunt to use it to decorate her kitchen.

I love to guess!

In fact, I turn it into a game with my customers every year, they guess 25 sets that they think will retire and I give a prize to the ones who have the most correct guesses. It really gets them focused on the catalog retirement.

I am going to guess too! This is fun:

Halloween Smiles
Star of Wonder
Christmas Foliage
Magic and Wonder
Holiday Spirit
Christmas Gift Tags (Updated with a new gift tag set)
Spring Party
Happy Fall Y'all
Vine and Berry
Fancy Foliage
Window on the World
The Fine Print
Mini Messages
Vertical Greetings
Birthday Bunnies
Somebunny New
maternal Instints
Heads Up
You Warm My Heart
Hang in there
OUt of This World
Gladsome Garden
In Full Bloom

Just Kidding about In Full Bloom

I think some of the new sets will retire because they are not big sellers. And frankly some are just unappealing....like the "Children of the Corn" I am sorry, but what were they thinking??? You need a stamp set that you can do a lot with....and some of these are too limiting.

I am glad that I started this thread, but I hope that some of you are wrong. Some of my favorite sets have been mentioned. I'm looking forward to getting the May SS so that we can see what SU decided.

This has been a great thread -- I LOVE the "Children of the Corn" name for those creepy kids! From now on that's what I'm calling them

There are ALWAYS lots of my favorites on the retiring list, sigh. But that's ok, 'cause I fall in love with lots of new sets. AND just because a set was brand new this year, it has NO bearing on whether it will make the new catalog. Many times in the past sets have only been around for 1 catalog. Lets hope that's true of all the creepy sets.
