Default Brayers???

I am thinking about getting the brayer next time I go to stamp club but I really am not sure about all the options on how to use it. Any insite would really help.

Here's two things I use mine for the most. First, when I'm inking up a background stamp, I ink up the stamp and lay it rubber up, put the cardstock on top of it and then a piece of scrap paper and then use my brayer to get good coverage. It's really the key for me to have good luck with those background stamps.

The other thing I use it for is to cover glossy white cardstock with ink, either when I'm doing the emboss resist technique or when using by spectrum pads on the white glossy.

Question

What roller do you use. My upline always promoted the foam roller. I am wondering about the uses for the other rollers?!?

To stamp on glossy paper use the firm rubber roller, or the foam roller. You'll see you get a slightly different result with each. To roll ink on a stamp, use the firm rubber roller. Use an acrylic roller if you want to get a water color look. Also, you can put clear self-sticking stamps on the acylic roller and make a rolling stamp. And you can make designs by wrapping textured stuff around the firm rubber roller (try rubber bands).

I got this document off of SCS a while back. It's 58 ways to use your brayer. Hope this helps!

I often use my brayer when attaching mulberry paper, or larger layers to cs to make sure all the air bubbles are out, edges are nicely feathered, and it is on smoothly. Like you might do when putting wallpaper or border paper on the walls.
