Default Best Eyelet Setter?

I had bought a ScrapArts Eyelet Setter about a year ago and can never really figure out how to work it properly so now I am looking to get a new one. JoAnn.com is having a sale on a ProvoCraft Silent Setter Hammerless Eyelet Tool Set but am wondering if it is really any easier than using a hammer one. The reviews on their website are mixed. Some say it hurt their hands but that it depends on the eyelets. I have heard SU's eyelets are softer so maybe this would be the best tool to get. Anyone have information on this setter or recommendations on your favorite setter. Plus any tips you have on setting eyelets.
Thanks!

Default Setters

I peraonaly like the "clickit". It's a hammerless setter but not a silent one. It comes with a variety of punches: 6 circle, a button and 2 different setters. It's a Karen Foster Design. A gem! I used it with my grade 5 class and they were all very successful.

I have also used the silent setter and didn't like it as much.

Hope this helps

If you have a store around you where you can try-before-you-buy, that would be the best bet. The hamerless-setter really seems to be specific for each person -- some love and some hate the same product. There are three major companies out there: Karen Foster ClickIt, ProvoCrafts Silent Setter, and Making Memories (I forget the name of it). There are a few other companies that make them too: Fiskars, ReadySet Tools, and I am sure there are more.

There has been a lot of discussion on this topic, you may want to do a search for eyelet setter and check out those threads as well.

For me the good old hammer is the best way to do it. I've been looking at the Silent Setter and with the way my arm and shoulder is in pain sometimes, I know it would be very painful pretty fast.

Thanks!

Excellent product, reasonably priced, works fabulous with soft/aluminum eyelets, if you are looking for a truly SILENT setter system.

Yes, I own one, and yes, I LOVE it! ;)

The handle is like an oval shaped door knob--I put my right hand (which has tendonitis all way up the forearm) over it and cover it with my left, standing, and push straight down. Sets easily, no taxing my bad arm at all.
