Default DON'T EVER THROW AWAY YOUR TACO SHELL PACKAGING!

LOL! Really, the white coregated cardboard stuff that's used in packaging taco shells works so perfectly when just a little padding is necessary to protect the embellishments on a card when mailing it.....It will make it a little more bulky but most times it's already to0 bulky to fit through the slot at the post office anyway! Hee!

Just sharing my discovery....which has already probably been discovered!

It could also be used to make a card with.....since crimping is cool on cards!

I've been using my non-su scraps of paper through a paper crimper...time to start saving the cardboard though!

Ladies... Now I'm a born and bred Souther California girl and it close to Mexico. No one here eats taco shells from a box!!! I honestly didn't know what you were talking about. I think I'd be afraid to try them!
I do give you credit for reusing and recycling! Good for you.

Hey...how come I didn't see this last night BEFORE I threw the box away!! (turkey tacos...yummy)

Fresh shells....sounds even yummier, if that's a word!! No fresh shells in the wilds of NH....at least none that I've found!

Same here! Although I vaguely remember eating them when I was about 10 when I visited a friend!

If you want fresh shells all you need to do is get fresh corn tortillas and some vegetable oil. In a shallow frying pan, small one is best, heat the oil and use tongs to place one tortilla in the hot oil. Fry for about 30 seconds on one side and turn it over. Fry for about another 30 and then transfer to a plate with paper towels. Fold it in half while its still very hot and plyable. Fortunately corn tortillas come in big packs so you can experiment with the cooking time. If you want it crispier then cook for a bit longer. I don't recommend making them too soft though. If you want a true Mexican tostada, you'd fry them crispy on both sides but don't fold them.

Now back to stamp talk.........

Enjoy!

Ah, but Ive been raised on Mexican food and we in Souther California don't even consider it a 'foreign' food at all. Its just what we eat. Tortillas are our bread.

LOL... I was thinking the same thing. Only, I have tried those taco shells, NOTHING compares to frying the corn tortillas in oil. Yummy! When we have family get togethers, we have tacos. Now I have a craving for some... hmmmm I'll have to take a break from my stamping and scrapping tomorrow and make some.

this is a great idea, but between saving soda can pop tops, dryer sheets, crystal light containers, meat trays and pop top fruit and soup cans (and not allowing him to actually use the pop top part) my husband is already looking at me like I'm the crazy junk lady. lol I'm not sure if I want to tell him to start saving the taco shell packaging, too! hahahahaha ...

Default I miss good Mexican Food

Okay I know this is kind of off the beginning of the subject. I grew up in St. Louis, MO and we had a GREAT Mexican restaraunt there. The owners were originally from Mexico. When I moved out to southern CA I was in heaven. We lived very close to TJ (Tiajuana) and ate there sometimes when people came to visit. We recently moved to southeast MO and only have Taco Bell type of restaurants. There are two supposed Mexican restaurants but I don't care for them, Taco Bell is even better.

Okay, back on the subject, what do you do with the Crystal Light cans?
