With the upcoming background special in mind I’m getting my list ready. The easy part was how many to buy – 6. (Unless I go to 9) The hard part is deciding what to get. I’ve been able to break it down to the ones listed. Please give me your options as to which you think are the most versatile. At this time I’m only doing card making but will be getting into scrapbooking. If you have any samples that you would like to attach of how you used them – it would be great.
I've only got 3 BG stamps, I've got canvas, print pattern and soft swirls. I probably use the print pattern most, with canvas right behind and just got soft swirls last month and have not used this one yet. But I know that I have got to get linen and I really want french script and weathered.
I love my Crosshatch stamp!! I use it all the time. I also voted for Print Pattern and Weathered, even though I don't have them.

I made it! Dec 2006-July 2007!
My nonstamping, weight-loss blog sort of.
1. French Script
2. Fine Lace (actually I have Antique Lace which is discontinued now, but Fine Lace looks like it)
3. Soft Swirls
4. Bamboo (but I do a lot of Asian designs - if you aren't planning on doing a lot of Asian designs, this probably wouldn't be at the top of my list)
Ones I don't have but would think they'd be very useful to have:
1. Weathered
2. Word by Word
3. Linen (In the Supplement, If you like this one, I would make it a priority to get it now during the special since you don't know if it will make it into the new catalog)
That's my 2 cents but of course all the backgrounds are great, these are just the ones I think would be most versatile.
HTH,
Christine
Crosshatch, Fine Lace, Just Jeans, Weathered, Print Pattern, Houndstooth are the ones I voted for from what you have listed, but I would also add Linen, Canvas and French Script I know that doesn't help much does it! LOL
I can relate to your dilemma, I have 6 on my wishlist too!
At this time though I get a lot of usage from: Canvas and French Script.
Those are really versatile, check them out!
I am really addicted to the BG stamps too....the really make a project look "finished". I've noticed that I have a really hard time NOT using them now, especially my "Print Pattern" and "Canvas" ones. I just ordered "French Script" and "Floral" last week, I know, nice timing! LOL. Looking forward to a little "Houndstooth" and "Crosshatch" now. Good Luck with your choices!

I have a ton of backgrounds already! My current faves are linen and houndstooth (probably because they are new) I voted for fine lace, print pattern (a must) and houndstooth. I will be getting the spring mini daisy one, weathered, and swirls, i think. I have most of the others that are available (plus a few retired ones)....... did I mention I'm a background fiend?
wow, my six choices are the leading six! LOL! I am hoping you already have canvas and linen, cause those are musts. Along with floral. By Definition is awesome too.

I'm getting Linen and the new Daisy one - and am having a hard time deciding on the third - it's between Crosshatch and Geometric. Between my Jan.Stamp and I we have most of the other ones - LOVE Print Pattern and Word by Word (we each one this - one is cut up the other is whole). Very excited about this promotion!
I am so excited because I sold my Paisley Print BG on ebay, and now I have a good bit to invest in the April special. I'll definitely be getting 6. I already have Print Pattern, and the only one I know that I will be getting off your list is Houndstooth. Decisions, desicions!

Print pattern is by far the most versitile to me. I do also like just jeans. The texture is fun.

I second that......I'm always using it. I only have four BG stamps (french script, paisley, print pattern, canvas), so I have a long wish list, but I'm going to try and limit it to 6 (probably the top five on my list plus 1 monogram).
Floral
Weathered
Fine Lace
By Definition
Cheesecloth
Word by Word
Just Jeans
Crosshatch
Houndstooth
Dots and Daisy's
T Monogram
C Monogram
I use just jeans with the pocket stamps; bamboo ll with the Asian/Oriental stamps; and houndstooth for a male background for birthday as opposed to the floral for a female background for birthday cards. I just got simple stripes and think it will make a good plaid background or diamond background, depending on the angle stamped.
Kath- Thanks for the Houndstook idea. I quess I will be getting that one. I use Canvas, Fine Lace, Floral , and Weathered the most. Can't wait to hear about the deal from my demo.
I use print pattern and canvas most of the time...I can't wait to get soft swirls, crosshatch and one other. My sister and I share stamps....it works out great...she has the backgrounds we use a lot as well----french script and a lace one(can't think of the name).
I love how Just Jeans adds a subtle "something extra" to an otherwise plain piece of cardstock! I used it to create a kind of snowy look on this card (inside of the window is the original cardstock color). I also really like it paired with Soft Swirls. And I used it to create a blue faux ribbon on this card. I like that it can be used with either masculine or feminine cards for any age group.
You don't have Canvas on your list. I use that one more than any other background stamp. It's another good gender-neutral stamp.
I love print pattern. I also voted for weathered and fine lace. I'm planning on getting french script, weathered, and floral. Linen is a birthday gift. Yeah! Got to love BGs.

Thank you everyone for your input. Ive been busy on projects and unable to do anything stamp related for a while. Every chance I got a few minutes for myself Id work on my list again. Boy this has been hard deciding on what backgrounds to get. I lost count of all the times Ive changed my order. I finally put it in yesterday if for no other reason so I couldnt change it again.
Crosshatch
Fine Lace
Floral
French Script
Just Jeans
Linen
On Safari
Print Pattern
Weathered
Geometric
I couldn't stop myself  ... I just put in my second order of the month and added to my background list. So final count is listed below.
Bamboo II
Crosshatch
Dots & Daisies
Fine Lace
Floral
French Script
Geometric
Just Jeans
Linen
On Safari
Print Pattern
Weathered
Now all I need to do is get Flash & Lucys new puppy brother potty trained so I can go down to my room and play with all my new toys. I tried going down this weekend just to organize and it definitely showed me hes not close to being ready to let mom play. I forgot how much work puppies are.
