Don't get me wrong, I like Canvas, but it looks like a screen. Linen looks like a canvas tote. So for me I think I like the Linen better. It doesn't look like Linen fabric to me, but definitely looks more like fabric at least.

I have canvas, and use it frequently...I thought I was going to wait and see if Linen makes it to the big catty, but the more I see with it, the more I want it...its MUCH more subtle than Canvas...
They are similar, but in my opinion completely different. makes sense, huh?
(BTW-- I think I'm going to get Linen w/the promo next month...;))
I love both of mine, and ironically they look really good layered one on top of the other. I would get Linen when you can, they both add different looks. Canvas is good for a lot, especially masculine cards and collaging. You will enjoy it!

I was perfectly happy with my canvas one until the linen one came out. I agree that both would be perfect but if I could only choose one I'd buy the linen. :-)
Well of course I just got Canvas last month, then bam here came Linen. With the special Linen will definetly be one I am getting, so happy, as others have said they are a like but so different!

I've had canvas for months and Linen will be arriving this evening. They look different and I will use them for different goals (I'll use Canvas for 'fun' cards).
To begin with, backgrounds are not my favorite thing. And, despite it's popularity, I wasn't feeling Canvas. Just when I started to think my life may not feel complete without it, Linen appeared in the Spring Mini!!! ;-)
Linen is what has been missing in my life. I can't wait to order it next month. Sorry Canvas.
Another vote for BOTH! I have Canvas & LOVE it! I use it on just about everything. I too thought the picture of it in the catalog looked like a screen at first, but I love it in color. It adds just the right amount of texture & looks great even even it doesn't ink well. Actually I like it a little spotty looking.
I just bought Linen & haven't used it yet. It is a subtle look. I can't wait to use it. I think it will look good giving texture to white, vanilla or light cardstock. It won't give as much texture as Canvas though.
Canvas was just about my favorite background.... Until I received linen just a few days ago--- I also got houndstooth--and I haven't even mounted it yet!! LOL Linen is awesome.
TFS the tip on using canvas on Linen...or vice-versa...I love the look of 2 BG on a card.
You must have both!!! I love canvas, and use it on many cards, but linen is a totally different look, so I will be using it a lot, too. At least with the April special you will have an excuse to buy more bg's!! You'll be saving money!!! BTW I didn't vote because I love them both!
I'm in the EXACT same boat as you! If I were you, and could only purchase one, I'd definitely go for Linen, since it's in the mini and may not make it to the catty (although, if they go by popularity of items, it will). I'm going to buy it in April (I'm so lucky, my month at Stamper's 9 is April! YAY! This is the first deal I've been really pumped for!!)
The two sure don't look the same to me when I see them in the gallery. I have canvas and sometimes it's to heavy of an image for what I want...so for my birthday next month my daughter is giving me linen. I make the order, she buys and we're all happy!
ME too! Just got canvas and then Linen came out. Will be getting it next month!
Now to decide what other 2 I'm getting?! Decisions, decisions!

I have Canvas, and really like it. So I wasn't going to get Linen. I ended up ordering it last week with my b-day money, and love it. It is much more subtle than Canvas. It really just adds a little texture to the paper. Haven't tried it on white yet, though. If I could only get one, I think I might get Linen. But I think you *need* both!;-)
Aughhh, just bought Canvas, now want Linen!
