Default Aqua Painter ?????

Do those of you w/aqua brushes leave the bleach or floor wax in the pens between uses or clean them out each time?
If you leave them in, do you have a problem w/clogging up or making the brushes icky?

I just started using my aqua pens, but I left the floor wax in one. Time will tell if it's okay! I haven't put bleach in one yet, as I don't trust my family with my crafting supplies. They could ruin their clothes, not realizing it is bleach inside the pen. (I haven't labeled the pens yet).

I would not leave bleach in them. Bleach loses a lot of its effectiveness within 15 minutes after you take it out of the bottle.

I have heard from a number of people that they leave their floor wax in the pen all the time. I have too and it seems fine. As for bleach, I don't know that I would even put it in the pen, it can break down so many different things, I would hate for it to break down the bristles. And I tend to question that 15 minute theory as I soaked some dominos in bleach over night and then drained it into my toilet bowl and about 10 minutes later the toilet was very bright and shiney, so it still had full potency after being in a jar on the counter all night.

I haven't heard of the floor wax technique (being a newbie & all). Can someone clue me in? Thanks!

You put Future floor wax for no wax floors in your aqua painter and then dip it into Pearl Ex, paint it on and it stays without sealing. Future is an "acrylic" floor wax so it seals the PE and makes it very shiney. It's great to have a brush dedicated to just the Future.

This is information right from the Clorox site. I only knew about this because at the last upline meeting I went to some people were talking about how the bleach that had been left out wouldn't bleach color from cardstock. It is definitely sensitive to light and the containers are designed to keep it from breaking down.

"Storage and Disposal for Ultra Clorox® Regular Bleach
Store this product upright in a cool, dry area, away from direct sunlight and heat to avoid deterioration.

This product rapidly breaks down almost entirely to salt and water."

I edited out a bunch of other stuff that didn't apply here. Bottom line, if your aqua pen is clear, your bleach probably won't work next time you go to use it.

i have a question about the future floor wax- i can't seem to find it at target, but i do have some armstrong hard floor cleaner. is that the same thing? it doesn't say wax on it, it's floor cleaner not a wax. but i'm wondering if it'll work? does anyone know?

You can, but I tend to put a little in the lid and use it from there so it doesn't affect the whole jar. You never know what might happen if it leaked. You could have a solid mass in the middle of your jar.

As for the bleach info, what can I say, it worked on the toilet 15 hours after being out. I am a sceptic at heart and tend to go "sure, right, you just want to sell more." Just my upbringing I guess.

Floor wax is not the same thing as floor cleaner. Cleaners remove dirt, but wax coats the surface of your floor to seal the material and make it shiny. Sorry, but what you have on hand probably won't work at all!

Future is a brand. It's an acrylic floor wax for no-wax floors. Originally they thought no-wax floors would stay shiney no matter what. Turned out not to be true and along came Future to the rescue. I have found it at WalMart, Food Lion, BiLo, and Target. It isn't with the cleaners, it's on the bottom with the other waxes and shiners. The key to the Future is the acrylic base.

Hope shipping is calculated by price, not weight -- containers of liquid can be heavy! I'd think you could buy Future floor wax at any grocery store, though.

The bleach you put in the toilet had been in a jar, right? If you had the lid on it, that might explain why it didn't lose its strength overnight. Just a thought.....I know if it's left out in the air, it will lose its strength eventually.
