Default Anyone want to alugh with me at my stupidity?????

OK - I am looking in the gallery at these cards saying they are using paper piercing - and they all have these really evenly cut scraps.....

I'm thinking - how is this "pierced" - how did they use the crafters tool kit????

For MONTHS - literally MONTHS I have thought this

Purusing my catty at page 223 at the color catty which I won today ata charity bingo !!! and glance over at 222 - PAPER PIERCING - ITS A PUNCH!

I about fell out of my chair - I really was beinging to wonder - how the HELL are these ladies cutting these things so precisely???? Looked at the templates - nope.

I even tried Printing a card and trying to HAND cut a few and the angel was all wrong!

OK - lets all laugh - I think this is Hysterically funny - who knew!!!

Smiles

Don't feel too bad... the punch is actually called paper PIECING not piercing! So I don't blame you for trying to figure out what was going on! It would have confused me too - I would have been looking for what was pierced! Oh, the power of one little letter added to a word inadvertently!

Piercing and Piecing are pretty close. I had two customers confused about this too.

I'm blushing for you. We've all had THOSE moments from time to time. At least you can laugh at yourself about it! (some of us are snickering a little-teehee )
Ronda
P.S. It's really not your fault though if people called it paper PIERCING, since that punch is called the paper PIECING punch. lol

Oh, rats! I had a real "duh" moment the other day and you all would have appreciated it, but now I can't remember it. I hope it comes to me so you all can have another laugh.

Stupidity? Well, I hesitate to even share what I did today. I wouldn't call your search for a "technique" stupid, Kate... If I didn't already know about the punch I would have probably thought it was cut by hand. On that note, wanna know the "technique" I, uh, um, "tried", today? Well, I put my stampin scrub in the dishwasher to get really clean, and it warped... It has been that way for a couple of months and I just laugh and tell people at my workshops what NOT to do with their scrubber... Uh, and, uh... well, I wanted that thing to be flat, darn it. I was baking cookies before some people came over to stamp and, ........ I thought... well, a minute in the oven and it will flatten out! Um, as usual, I got distracted, and about 20 minutes later I smelled burning plastic... Needless to say, my stampin scrub is still not quite flat...it is more like a puddle. So if in the future you see "do not put in oven" on the stampin scrub, you'll know why... and I will know one of you tattled to corporate!!! Well, I gave everyone a laugh today. Me too! What a dork I can be. So Kate, feeling pretty clever?!?!?!

I have had several customers call our Forest Foliage "Forest Foilage". So you're not the first, last, or only person to have what my family refers to as a "brain fart". Don't be embarrassed about it, we all have them!

Since I'm a "word" person, that piecing/piercing thing has driven me nuts from the day the catalog came out. Everybody screws it up all over the place! You should all nominate me for sainthood for my restraint! I've NEVER corrected anyone!!!!!! LOL

There is also a piercing technique... when you use the needles and template in the Crafter's Tool Kit. Very confusing.

OH! I remembered it! I was looking at my spring mini and it suddenly for the first time made sense! I never could figure out why anyone would want a stamp that has the whole alphabet on it and how you could use a circle punch with it. The light has finally come on!!!!

Default not oven safe

Not THAT'S funny! That is something I would so do. My boyfriend always gives me a hard time when I do these kinds of things.

Hope your oven didn't get ruined!

Be safe out there...

Default Stampin Scrub in the dishwasher

Lisa:
You're hilarious! Does your dw have an low energy setting or just air dry setting? That would probably work and if it fits on the top rack, it should also be fine on any setting. I have a dw that has a deep top, so I'm lucky and able to put a lot up there.

ROFLAO!

Um.. yes you are supposed to stand there watching and waiting for the dry cycle so you can take the scrub pads out! I mean, we've all got time to just stand around doing nothing but watching the dishwasher, right? Setting the dishwasher to air dry might work, too.

You know, though, I saw that gorgeous teacher-y apple card in the gallery last night (thanks, whoever did that) and it was great with the whole alphabet.

I have been looking for paper peircing templates (with the R) but not the brass ones, paper ones that I could photcopy and re-use. I got the new tool in my tool kit!

Any one know of any sources?

I guess we're all guilty of the DUH moments....I had done a stamp camp that my neighbor/co-demo was supposed to also be helping at, but then had family issues, so she gave me all her supplies - I brought her little basket home with me after the camp, put it on my sofa table, and my "cute" little dog grabbed the Stampin' Mist spray bottle (which was almost empty) out of the basket and proceeded to chew the heck out of it. So, I ordered her a new one, then about a week after the first chew incident, I had MY SM spray bottle sitting on the coffee table...yep, "cute" little dog got ahold of it and proceeded to again chew the heck out of it (and that one was nearly full!) Good to know that the stuff isn't toxic (at least to a 20 lb. dog).
