Default Anyone tried the Making Memories eyelet setter/punch?

Is it me or do these NOT work? I have tried it with several brands of eyelets, without success. Or perhaps have I got a defective one? I have pushed the handle until it clicks 4-5 times without even a dent in the eyelet. Linda

If it's the same one I have, I found that I had to adjust the pressure by twisting the handle, if that makes sense...

The instructions didn't seem very clear to me when I first got mine; are you pushing down until you hear a big "pop?" Increasing the tension like the previous poster mentioned may help as well.

Thanks for suggestions. I thought I increased the tension. I turned and tried the handle both ways and pushed all the way down as far as it would go, did hear the click. Any other hints? Linda

Maybe the one you have is defective? I've never had a problem with mine and really like it on the MM eyelets, especially.

i just bought this one at M's with a 50% off coupon and LOVE IT!! cannot believe i ever used a hammer!! i have used with a variety of eyelets and have had great results - have had to push down more than once for some of them, but it still beats using a hammer!

Hi Linda. I just happened to come across this thread. I've noticed when I use my mine that I have to be sure I'm using it on a hard, solid surface. My craft table has just enough give to it that it doesn't work very well on it, so I've found it works better if I use it on a stiffer surface. Hope you get it to work for you! I love mine!!
