Default What set have you bought . . . Q #2

What set have you bought that you wish you never spent the money on?

You know what I mean-- the set you just HAD to have because you saw a really cool sample made with it, and then you got it, made that card, and have hardly ever used it since.

Come on, fess up!

Mine would have to be Brushstroke Hummingbird. I got it at my very first stamp camp because I loved the 2 cards we made w/it.

Then there is the Hearts and Posies--did I get that as a SAB set that year? If I spent money on it, I want it back!

OH yeah - off the top of my head - DD AIRplane - it was one of the 15 they brought back out of retirement....

I am keeping it - thinking perhaps scrapbook pages when I finally get organized for that.....

but honestly - if someone said - OOOHHH OOOH what do you want for it - I would probably sell it in a heart beat!

Default Mine -

Fishy Friends. I LOVED all of the adorable samples I saw with this. I was going to do an Oceanic Bday party for my daughter. Then she decided she wanted DORA!
So, I have this set Unmounted, and I probably won't ever use it! Sad thing is - I traded someone for the Matching Wheel!

I bought Scouts at Play and Girl Power. My son is 3  and with my luck, will probably hate the Cub Scouts...

And yet...I cannot sell. Yeaaaaahhh...I'm a dork.

I did not actually pay for it, it was an SAB set as I recall, but Painted Garden. I have never used it...maybe one of these days!

Botanicals. I have used one stamp in it once. I bought it right when it came out thinking I would use it all the time. Nope

One of my first sets was Love Without End. I had to have it and now I don't care for it. Same with All the Best, which I am hoping I will learn to use more. I was given Fresh Fillers and don't want it.
I do think that I want Fishy Friends.

I rarely use my Painted Garden. I try, but I never like the outcome. Also my Pretty Peacocks, although with that one when I do use it I like the outcome.

I have several that I've never used, but the one that I'm sure I won't use is Sketch It.

Watercolor Minis...

I just needed it after I saw one sample. I have the hardest time using it and it only comes with one stem! Oh well...

By Design! :( Instant buyers remorse. I should have gotten little layers ll during the special in Sept. I also am having trouble using Merry Elves. I thought I loved it at first, hate everything I've made. Threw out the card before it was finished!
FYI I love Painted Garden and use it all the time.

Hmmm, let's see...

I'd have to say Joy, Kiss Me (St. Paddy's Day is huge here, but I found out I can't sell my stamped stuff at shopSCAD), Inspirationals, and Seasonal Borders #1 Mini. Thankfully I've been able to unload all four sets on eBay, since no one here was interested. "Free" sets that went unloved for me were Painted Garden and Sweet and Simple. Again, eBay came through for me.

I didn't earn back what I paid for each of these sets, but I did make enough so that I can order the things I want from the Holiday Mini!

Karen just reminded me that I have that set too, By Design. I had to have it too, so mom bought it for my birthday. Not loving it at all.

Yeah, I got By Design during the sept six and haven't used it yet either. I got Little Layers II and use it tons though. At least it was on my 30% off order as well as being 25% off so it was super cheap!

Hmmm... I have several.
Build a 'bot was one. Got it, never mounted it and then sold it. Maybe I was intimidated by all the moving parts. I also bought Dreams and Dragons when they brought it out again, and then a friend sent me hers after her daughter outgrew it. I never did mount the one I bought, and it's now in a new home (Thanks Catie!). Had to have Springtime Fun to do my DD's walls, but then did something else in her room instead. Also got DD Daisy for the bathroom walls, but DH didn't want flowers, so then I got DD Shells to use. I can probably come up with a few more if I go look in my stash. I know there are a few in there that haven't seen the light of day since they were mounted.

I know this will sound crazy, but for me it is In full bloom. I am a brand new demo, and I got it as one of the sets in my starter kit...and have not had any urge to use it. I love all the samples I see...but it just isn't for me. I would rather have petal prints!!!

Definitely for me it's lack of examples. I like using the tulip and that all I have been able to use. I even use the tulip petals on spring garden stems and I like that....but I'd sure like to get more out of it than those two stamps!

I have a few as well.... Baby Announcements (now just called Announcements), Hedgehog Happiness (since traded), Quick & Cute (still unmounted), and Little Inspirations (I like this set, but everytime I look at it - I see bookmarks and can't come up with any cards). I am sure there are more as well. Of course, my favorites definitely outway my non-favorites.

Gosh, it seems that every set I own falls into that catagory. I have 18 sets that sit collecting dust. I think that it's partly lack of ideas and partly that I just don't have a reason to stamp. (OMG! BLASPHEMY!)
I have cards already made from swaps I've participated in. I don't want to send them because I would like to keep them as ideas, but then I never make any to send to any one...and I hardly have people to send cards to anyway.

I have:
Watercolor Minis (used once)
Paris in the Spring (unused as of yet)
On the Beach (unused)
Simply Spring (unused)
Border Builders (unused)
Birthday Best (used once)
Beach Babies (unused)
Fruit Medley (unused)
Fruity Phrases (unused)
Sunny Seasons Greetings (used once)
Happy Healing (used once)
God Bless America (used once)

I use these sets once in a while:
Tags and More
Announcements
A Tree for All Seasons

I was reading a post about wish list $$. Mine is under $100. I guess I'm just not infected with the stamping insanity...yet....

LOL

Had to have Watercolor Minis - too much work for me, traded it.

Had to have Roses in Winter - used it once.

Bug builders. I never use. In fact, I am confessing that I hate it. Absolutely cannot stand it. I have other sets that I love, but haven't used, but I will not ever use bug builders and don't know why I still own it.

wait.... oh yeah, my daughter likes it. That is why it is still around.

Ooo! I forgot one! Hearts & Posies! I HATE it-soooo ugly! And I can't give it away! Have you looked in B/S/T??? Everyone is trying to get rid of theirs. I just have to laugh every time I see it sitting on my desk-unmounted...it's either laugh or cry!

You can add another water color minis. Don't know why I got it. I also haven'tused Polar bears yet, but got it just before they discontinued it. I plan to use it for winter layouts in my scrapbook, so I should (I hope) be using it soon. Interesting poll.

Watercolor Minis for me too. Had to have it after 2 cards made at stamp night. Maybe I just own too many others I'd rather use.

Does it count if we have sets that we bought and used SO MUCH that we burned out on them? I love Roses in Winter and used it extensively, but I'm tired of it for now. Keeping it just in case I get over it though! Also In Full Bloom. . . I bought it because of Julie Ebersole's set sampler! And I used it for workshops, but it isn't nearly as much my speed at Petal prints. . .

Also bought Watercolor Garden II, and have never gotten around to using it even though I like it.

Used Terrific Tulips SO MUCH that I'm tired of it too. . .

*Sigh* This is a hobby that breeds lust! We always *need* newer or more. . .

My dilemma is that I buy new sets every time I get a new mini catalog, big catalog, etc. Then I'm soooooo excited to use them.....UNTIL something new comes along. Then those sets go to the shelf and the process starts all over. And since the new mini catalogs have so many more sets, it makes it even worse (or better, I don't know which!)

I have sooo many sets that I stopped counting, so some don't get used often. I like having a large selection to choose from, though. I love combining sets, and having so many allows me to be much more creative.
The only one I never use is an old one called Country Naturals. It was one my daughter bought when we first started stamping, and I don't think I've used it once. It's a large set with a lot of very small floral and natural images that can be combined into bouquets, wreaths, etc. Much too fussy! I told my daughter I wanted to sell it, but she still thinks we might find a use for it. :? (We bought it years ago!)

I have to say mine is definitely- Nice and Easy Notes. My rep told me if I only got one set, get that one. I used it two times, maybe. Never never liked it. Second, Elegant Ornaments- still like it but have NO idea what to do with it!

Mine is Polka Dot Party. I bought it last year when they had that deal for free buttons when you bought this set and some paper. Oh well, at least I got something out of it.

Mine is A Little Love. I got it last year during SAB. I keep asking myself "WHY?"
