My cousin is having a under the sea baby shower theme. She wants me to make the invites but looking through the gallery I can't find anything that would be realative to under the sea & Baby shower. Does anyone have any idea's of what a stamp set or image I could use to help the invitation match her theme? Thanks for any ideas.
The first thing I thought of when you described the theme was the image of Ariel sitting inside the oyster shell or whatever it was. KWIM? So what if your invite was an oyster that opened? You would need some sort of shell template, but I think that would be super cute!
Shannan that's a great idea. She's having a boy which is why I am racking my brain trying to think of ideas. But I like your idea!
Boys are so much harder than girls! LOL
I found some really cute sets, depending on what look you're going for. I think sea horses would be cute, but you could go cutesy or vintage depending on her style. Down by the Sea from Inkadinkado Beach Days & Sun Rays by Unity Natural Wonders from Cavallini
I loveeee that Cavallini set!!
Ok hit enter too soon. Anyway, what I would do is search the gallery for 1) baby shower invites and 2) ocean/sea themed projects. If you see one you like, you can change it to fit your needs!
The Greeting Farm has a Mermaid Ian....I guess he'd be properly called a merman, not like Ethel tho....and there is also a little girl mermaid too...just precious.

Our Craft Lounge has a few cute undersea sets. They aren't baby, but they are still really sweet so they might work! Check out Oceans of Fun and Bubbles. You could computer-generate your own sentiment to go with!
My neice had a Sea Life themed shower and baby nursery. I used the Fishy Friends set from SU and the swirls cuttlebug folder. They were super cute! I didn't get a picture. Check out the Fishy Friends gallery to see what you can tweak for a shower invite!

for 'take home' gifts, you can fill little cello bags or small (cleaned) baby food jars with Goldfish crackers. Table decorations could be small fish bowls from the $ store, you can either fill them with a few pieces of gravel or river rocks, and blue-dyed water.
For colors, for a boy, I would say turquoise, bright yellow, orange, and a darker blue. I know Wilton makes a lot of different candy molds, maybe they make fish? Target has light blue (and yellow) Wilton candy melts for 50% off right now (from Easter, but still good), You could make lollipops, bag each in celo with a ribbon, and poke them into floral foam inside a tin bucket on the tables. The ones that look like old beer coolers are in the Taget $ spot now. You could also just spread some seashells on the table, using sand or brown sugar inbetween.
you could do cupcakes, frosted blue. Teddy Graham cookies can be decorated with little bikinis and mermaid tails with piped icing.
Games could include 'whos got the goldfish?' (like whos got the penny with a plastic fish), how much bigger is Mommy's belly than that inflated innertube(buy a big innertube, and a looong measuring tape. LOL the person who guesses closest in inches wins). Each woman gets in teams of 3 or 4 and had to 'build a bikini' on one of them using toilet paper, play the song 'itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini' to time the contest.
hope some of these ideas help a little LOL
Archie McPhee's has some fun plastic sea critters that could be fun decorations. You could also make a goldfish in a bag soap as a party favor. There are instructions for these on lots of blogs now so if you search goldfish soap you will find them.
I made a fishy mobile a few days ago Fish mobile by Tilly at Splitcoaststampers
and thought you could cut out a whole pile of simple fish shapes similar to this one and make a banner/bunting for baby's wall. Cut the fish in the same color cardstock as the room's theme colors, get all the guests to write a message on the back and provide crayons or felt pens/stickers/glitter etc. for them to color the front (all co-ordinated colors of course!), and then string/staple them all along a length of ribbon afterwards. It would be a lovely keepsake for the mom and baby, and brighten the room until he outgrows that theme.
Another idea would be to use the same simple fish shape for the invitations. Fold on the flat end of the tail.
Good luck, and let us see what you do please!

Ladies...unfortunately I had to click on most of the links you provided here...the unfortunate part (?) is I will be getting some new stamp sets...lol
blessings.
I bought wiltons candy molds with sea life critters and my aunt is going to make colorful candles (instead of chocolate's) to give as favors. Will be for sure using the idea of the decorated fishbowls for center pieces, Thanks Laura6
Also I am going to try my luck at a diapercake and decorate it with sea related baby toys and things. I thought I can top it off with a flag made from the craft lounge stamps. I'll be sure to come back to the thread and post it all once it's complete. Blessings and thanks for your help!

Diaper cakes are easier than you think....it's just a little tedious rolling up the diapers..decorating is the fun part! Can't wait to see what you make!
Thanks ladies, for all your wonderful Idea's. I'm here to show you the final invitation. Right here!
I really had to keep it simple as I am making 50 of these now.. Which Is why I chose to color them with prisma pencils and babyoil. I'm bad,,, but I could not see using my beloved copics on something that is most likely going to end up in the trash after the shower. We crafters would never trash something hand made. Anyway, I just wanted to share the invite with you all since you helped me with the idea.. I'll be back to show you what else I make for this blessed event ;)
