...who stresses about my mom's Mother's Day card? (obviously youdo not stress about mymom's card--but you know what I mean:rolleyes
I know (in my head, that is) she will like what I make --but I still feel like it needs to be EXTRA special! Maybe it is because she bought me my starter kit. I do not know. I made her a birthday gift (early May birthday) and it did not turn out near as nice as I wanted it to.
I usually worry about my mom's card too. I think it stems from still wanting her approval (silly, I know, I'm 36 for pity's sake!!). But she's great about it... I got my older sis hooked on stamping and it's become a competition almost between us to out do each other. But mom always tells me she likes mine better! Yeah, I'm the baby of the family, can you tell??

No, I don't stress about it. My mother calls me her wife or her mother-in-law, doesn't know what day it is, wears five tops but no underwear, takes photographs out of frames and wraps them in her socks. Life with Alzheimer's. Give your mother a big hug on Sunday -- in fact, every day! You never know.

Okay, life is in perspective now. Thank you--this is probably what I needed to hear. I am just going to go make the card now.
Okay, even though I'm pretty sure my MD card got taken off her dresser and put ... who knows where? ... I still wanted it to look pretty for her. It was a card I made for a class on faux techniques, and this card showed faux suede, creating faux Primas by punching and layering daisies.
Do I ever stress!!!!! My mom and 2 of my sisters are master crafters! They do everything, and they do it well!! My oldest sister and I are just so-so, we don't really enjoy ALL the crafting. But I have really gotten into the stamping and one day my mom told me it was too bad I didn't have an imagination like my sister. SOOOOOOOO, I almost hate to send her stuff, because she tends to tell me what I did wrong with it. I almost died of shock when she actually told me she liked the easter card I sent her and the spare I sent.(I couldn't decide which one I liked so I sent her both and left one blank so she could give it out) OMG!!! So, yes, I stress.

Totally stress. My mother doesn't think she has any artistic talent (she's wrong about that) and she thinks that everything I do is "just wonderful" (wrong about that, too!), but she goes to lots of classes at her local stamp store and given by demos in her area, so she sees lots of real art!
Oh well. If she thinks it's wonderful, and she's the one I made it for, then that's all that really matters, right?
Um, yeah. My mom is a stinkin' expert stamper, so no small amount of stressing here. I do know that because she's my mom she always loves whatever I do and is my biggest fan, so the stressing is not really necessary. But I feel the need to stress over it, anyway!

Yep. Stress about the whole thing, actually. Esp. since her birthday's two days later. So I have to make two cards. And she didn't like the one I made for my dad's birthday. Debated whether I should even make one or not!
I made her a b-day card last night with her favorite colors: My Mom's Birthday Card
Also stressed about the Mother's Day card my boyfriend "commissioned" me to make for his mom for him, but not as much, because she's WAYYYYY easier to please than my mom (or maybe I just see it that way cuz she's not my mom). JR's Mom's Day Card
Either way, they both ended up simple, because neither of them really understands what goes into cards. I think I'd stress more if they were into stamping!!!!
