I have been looking at a great number of sets that have never seen ink. So, I have issued myself a challenge...I am choosing one set at a time, going through the gallery for that set, and getting inspiration to make at 3 cards with the set. In the past three days, I have managed to ink up 4 sets that haven't seen ink before. Sadly, I think I have about a billion sets to work through. Has anyone else ever done this before? Can it be done or am I CRAZY??

no dont think you are crazy i find it easier to use something after looking at ppl cards for inspiration, makes me like the set/stamp more after getting ideas i seem to be using them more after that. inspiration is always good!
I think it's a great idea! I should do that myself! You might want to slow down your output a little so you don't get sick of it or feel pressured to get it all done by a certain date.
I think it's a great idea -- wish I would get motivated and join you. Almost like the Julie in the Julie and Julia movie who decides to cook all the recipes in Mastering the Art of French Cooking in a year. Happy stamping!!
I am sure that last year I remember someone working through all her sets. But if you've done 3 cards each from four sets in three days - that's a lot of card-making ahead of you! Good luck with it, sounds like fun.
I do this too. I have also done it with SU designer paper....done a gallery search for a particular paper, then CASED the cards/sketch substituting stamps that I have.

I try to do this but my problem is that some of my DP is so old I don't know what the name is so don't know how to search :(
I, too, look for samples of particular stamp sets I have that I either haven't used at all or haven't for a long time.
Just don't tell yourself you HAVE to use one set each day; that's a good way to hate them all :>(
What an admirable project! I pull out old sets once in a while and make myself use them. Happily, I have maybe only two or three of hundreds of sets that have never been used. You are not alone, though. I have seen MANY stampers' shelves piled high and deep with unused, usually not even mounted, sets.

I too have sets that are uninked and I think that idea is fabulous!! I am in the process of unmounting all of mine. I have been trying to unmount them as I use them. I think I will implement your idea. Maybe it will get me going again! I kinda go in spurts.
I have a lot of sets which have never seen ink - I buy them at the shows when they are on offer, bring them home and then have to get on with the current project. I put the new sets to one side and then look at them lovingly! (I know it's sad!).
I'm going to go through all my new Christmas stamps and like you try to make at least 3 cards with each set.
crazy - probably, you're a stamper what else could I think!!
I think's it's a great idea, just don't burn out if you have limited time. If you have all day then no problem, but it could zap your mojo and your not giving yourself time to learn the stamp. I like to play with my images before I make something.
You could add an extra challenge is you have supplies you don't use very often - like this set is the chalk cards, or the button cards, etc. If you're going to be crazy, why not go all out.....
Thanks for all the encouragement ladies! I am enjoying the challenge...I don't have any end date set so I will keep going while I am interested. Feel free to join me!
I actually have made this idea my New Years resolution for next year. I'm not starting yet because of all my holiday projects I need to get done first. I'm going to make at least one card with all the sets I own. I won't allow myself to buy any new stamps until I'm done.
I only have one set that I've never used ever. What's going to make this a challenge for me however, is that six years ago when I started collecting stamps I was strictly a scrapbooker. So a lot of my sets are geared more towards that area, in my brain at least. I'm looking forward to this project.
And no, I don't think you're crazy.

This is a great idea and I bet once you start casing with them, it will be easier to come up with ideas on your own. I am spending more time lately buying than using, so this would be a good challenge for me also.
