Yes. But remember he is still driving a stick shift S-10 from 1991. So he has new truck in mind. Maybe after the Durango is paid off (almost there) and he gets his new truck, I can get my new camera. Or maybe I can get my new camera after the laptop is paid for....

Today he actually referred to it as MY laptop! He told me he needs to use my laptop tomorrow for his baseball draft. Since I have to go take pics at a beauty pageant, I told him that would be fine. hehehe

When I started photography for the public 3 years ago, I charged $450 for weddings and gave them the negatives or disk. I didn't do any prints. After I was able to get two or three weddings, I went up to $650. I started keeping rights to all my photos and hooked up with a pro. photo lab, and printed 300 4x6s for the couple and put them in an album. Now I charge $750, and they get 300 4x6s, I take their engagement pics (indoor & outdoor), bridal session, and they get six 5x7s or their choice.
The key is getting those first 2 to 4 weddings booked. After you have that experience and referral from them, it is a lot easier to get the business.
Sorry I am rambling! This has just been a great business for me and I like to share with others!

Oh, you're not rambling at all. I never realized how each photographer did everything differently. From all the reading I've been doing, I haven't come across any two photographers who offered the same packages or had the same way of doing business or dealing with their couples. It is all very, very individualized and personalized. I think that's one thing that attracts me to the business.
Ok ladies.. I've been reading along but I'm exhausted and need to get to bed. I hope tomorrow is a better day. HAve a good one all and I'll chat with ya in the morning,,, nighty night
One thing that DH commented about a couple of times today, after we left, was how good I was at bossing people around and telling them where to go and what to do.
He was talking about when we were doing the bridal party and family photos.
