Decided to try the challenge more for my daughter with the black eye than for the sake of the challenge. Brown snowflakes...that is just beyond my boxed in thought waves. But it ended up being a fun activity. Thanx for the challenge. Now to see if Dawn actually checks out the cards that are submitted.
I was already working on brown & blue snowflakes this am and then checked the challenge this afternoon. I tweaked it a bit to conform to the challenge. My husband told me this morning that brown and blue are not Christmas colors, but I really like the combo.
Wow...is this the best challenge ever or what!!! I absolutely LOVE all the cards being uploaded for this challenge! I would've never thought brown snowflakes could look so wonderful!
Did anyone see in a magazine (something like Popular Science...um yeah...one of my hubby's favorites!) a few months ago about catching real snowflakes on a microscope slide, immediately adding a drop of super glue on the snowflake, and preserving it....like on a card! I don't remember the exact process....but the picture was great because you could see the delicate lines of the snowflake. At the time I thought...well even if we did catch snowflakes in So Cal (about 45 min from my house)...how pretty could snowflakes be if they were not pure white! Well these cards are AWESOME!!!
I was excited to see that one of my cards was being used as an example! It made me come and see what was going on and now I'm going to have to do the challenge! Thanks for the push Jen!

Jen, I just have to tell you that this has been my favorite LSC so far. When I first read brown snowflakes this morning I thought ew, yuck. Then seeing all of the beautifully elegant cards from all of the participants I was blown away! Everybody had fun with this one. I think for my next workshop we will definitely be doing a brown snowflakes card
Thanks for the challenge!
Joanne

Used the old Bearly Brown Flocking and heat and stick to stamp flakes. They look a bit gold in the scan, but IRL they are a light brown. Dirty Snowflakes

I must admitt, when I first saw Jen's post indicating that we were to use brown snowflakes, I thought that she had gotten a bit to close to the glue (if you know what I mean). I checked out the samples I was truely amazed and had to give this a try. I still think that I need to add a bit of bling, but haven't figured out how/what.
p.s. Jen, I will never, ever doubt you again - you rock!!!

ROFL! I have enjoyed reading how many people were surprised by this challenge, but this was too funny! :-D
When I saw that there were brown snowflakes for the challenge, I didn't go "yuck" I went "OH YESSS!!" Because I LOVE anything with brown combos. I hope to make a card today to post here! Thank you Jen for the challenge. I have truly enjoyed looking at all the cards, "WOW!"

I saw this challenge and thought of these hedgeys. I have been wanting to play with them and thought this would be the perfect time!! Thanks for the inspiration! Here it is: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Love the way this challenge gives you a need idea on Christmas cards. I was getting tired of the same green and red I always make. Thanks for the great challenge. Here is mine..
