i dont drink bottle water, drink it right out of the tap, i dont own a designer purse, not a gourmet foodie, but i am a snob when it comes to wrapping packages. i have cut my gift buying for every occasion back, not because of money because i just won't do obigatory gift giving anymore. if you get a gift from me, its because i really want you to have an item the i really thought about instead of one that i ran into the department store, closed my eyes and spun around and grabbed something and said "there, thats done." and i want it presented beautifully. when i receive a gift and someone shoves a gift bag in my direction and says "here." i always think it was an unwelcome effort on their part. it might not be, but i always have guilt that they had to go out of their way. my husband rarely buys me a gift for any occasion, but my kids told me the last time he bought me a gift, that he was watching youtube videos on how to tie bows. i do not remember the gift, but i will always always remember the effort, that he wanted me to have a beautiful package, that he did himself.
when i was a kid, we lived outside of a little town, that was outside of a bigger town. that bigger town had a weises department store (our version of macys) they had a gift wrap department and they used fabric for their bows. my only career goal until at least high school, when everyone else wanted to be teachers or stewardesses or astronauts, i wanted to be the gift wrap girl at weises. probably not healthy and my parents might have suggested higher goals and could explain a less than dynamic career now, but a true story!
I love your page and your snobby gift giving story

Paper Crafty Goals for 2013: 50/135 pages and 185/75 cards.
Our first Digital Scrapbook Day 2012 Challenge is to create a Clean and Simple layout with ONE photo (stacked like mine if you like), using no layers just a great background paper. You may use other papers to fill punches, and minimal stamps and embellishments! Use texting/chat or Twitter lingo in your title or journalling!
I have used SU Pocketful of Posies papers, Basic Jewels, Butterfly Shape 2 punch, Medium Arrow punch and #hashthis and Bliss Stamp brushes.
Be sure to add the keywords DSD2012-01 and SBC12NOV (we'll get November's goal gallery started!) so we can find your work! Paste your link here too!
I just counted - we had 34 total uploads to the Digital Scrapbook Day 2012 gallery! 32 unique pages. Great job everyone!! Keep the pages for the challenges coming all week!

Terri and I are both going to be away for most of the evening, so if you don't see us here tonight, you'll find us here most of tomorrow. The first challenge on Saturday will be at 10 a.m. EST.
Stampin Up! is celebrating Digital Scrapbooking Day with 3 great free downloads and a great 50% off sale on some free kits. Pop over and get your free downloads here:
You can use them with any digital scrapbooking program!
For Challenge #3, go ahead and GET the free downloads! Use the Split Second Download for your page. Here's a sample from My Digital Studio featuring the Split Second Download. Imagination - My Digital Studio See what you can come up with using the elements of the kit! If you CASE Kimberly's page, please give her credit by pasting the link to the page in your description.
If you don't have the kit (or are unable to download it for some reason - maybe you don't like free? ;)), or you are a traditional paper scrapbooker, try CASING Kimberly's great layout, or using arrows and chevrons, or the great color combo! Don't forget the keywords DSD2012-03 and SBC12NOV! I will add my page in a couple of hours - I'm off to a wheelchair basketball game first! See you all soon!!
Here in the U.S. we have two important patriotic days coming up --- Election Day (11/6) and Veterans Day (11/12). The colors of the American Flag are red, white and blue and theyre the colors that represent patriotism in the U.S.
:p I know several of our digi-scrappers are from other countries, so, my challenge to everyone is to make a page predominantly using the colors of your countrys flag. You may use other colors, but try to have your flags colors be the main ones.
:p One more thing for the challenge!
Use this template/sketch for your page. Its a FREE download from a site that our fellow digiscrapper, Lori, directed us to recently. The free template was actually posted there for last years DSD day, but the link still works.
The template is in several formats. I know Photoshop and Elements users can download and use the template. I think MDS scrappers can use it too, but Im not sure how that works. (anyone??) Either way, use the layout as a sketch or template for your page.
Be sure to add the keywords DSD2012-04 and SBC12NOV so we can find your work! Paste your link here too!
wait, regina, you have a grand daughter? didnt we just see a layout of you, in a black halter type outfit, looking very young and cute and not very grandmotherly? well crap, there is only two kinds of fair: county and state and life isnt one of them.
i have a granddog, i am not nearly as young or cute, but i dont yet wear glittery sweatshirts that say "ask me about my granddog" or "my grandchild has four legs"!

Lori...you're a sweetheart! You totally made my day and completely crack me up!! Technically, she's my step-granddaughter as her dad is my stepson, but I claim him as my own son. My *real* son is 19 and thankfully has no children yet. LOL... My stepson, Shea, is 26, married and has the sweet Miss Sophie as his daughter.
That picture was actually taken in August at Sophie's first birthday with my two wonderfully-obnoxious sisters-in-law. Good times!

I just finished Challenge 4 & 6! Now I just need to do 3 & 5 then I'm going to do the progressive too. I have along weekend & the weather is suppose to be good so DH is going to fish Sunday...that means I can scrap...yeah!!
I'll post the pages tomorrow....my eyes are starting to burn so I need sleep. Night all!
Well after 3 attempts I finally have my 2 pages uploaded...it was operator error. I kept closing the wrong window !! Since I had so much "trouble" I didn't give credits to everyone on SCS but it is on my blog with links to the sites, etc. Thanks to everyone for their inspiration!
I combined #4 & #6 to make a 2 page layout. Well here are my pages:
Well I didn't get a chance to finish challenges 4, 5 & 6 in time for deadline, but I plan on working on them later this week. I've got the photos ready and just need to execute everything.
I'm off to check out everyone's pages. Thanks so much for these fun challenges. It's also fun getting to know everyone.

It has been a blast doing these!
Thanks Wendy and Terri for setting it up!
You pushed some of us (yes, me) out of the box ... and it feels great!
That last layout wore me out! I didn't realize that digital scrapbooking could be so exhausting! Or maybe it was the clock racing with a teenager asking me to go look for multiple things in my not-so-tidy scrap area!
I don't have to work today so with my DSD challenges done I decided to lounge with my coffee & check out the gallery. I thought I had missed a few but once I started looking I was surprised at how many I really did miss! Everyone is so talented and it's amazing how many different ideas come from one challenge.
I want to sent a big THANK YOU to Wendy & Terri for puting this challenge out! I've really enjoyed my week of scrapping & the best part is it all came from my stash.
Now I have to go clean up the Craft Corner! I have to say it's more fun getting it out than putting it away...LOL!
I knew it would be difficult to pick winners of the six DSD digi-challenges, but I had no idea just how hard it would be! Terri and I each hosted 3 challenges and each picked the winners from our own challenges (Terris challenges were #1, 3 and 5. Mine were #2, 4 and 6.)
Both digi and traditional scrappers were invited to play. Terri and I enjoyed hosting and we sure hope you enjoyed playing! The top choices are listed below, but every page was a winner in our book.
Congratulations to all of our winners! But more importantly, congratulations to all of you who joined the challenges and got inspired to create a few more pages this month!
Great job everyone!

Yes, we're growing into a nice little community here, getting to know each other and sharing inspiration. I've enjoyed every minute. We have a talented and fun group here and it's growing every day!
Thanks for liking my LMAO page so much. Many more thanks, though, for posting these fabulously fun challenges. I've only been digitally-scrapping since June, but I've already learned so much with these and all the other digi-challenges. I'll keeping playing along. See everyone soon!
