Hello scrappy friends! Are you ready for a new Progressive Challenge? Last month’s was so much fun! TrishG was our guest hostess and she really led us through to a great finished page. I truly enjoyed each week’s tasks and hope Trish will be willing to challenge us again one day soon! Thanks, Trish!
I came across a neat photo my daughter-in-law took on their trip to Turks & Caicos a few years back and it gave me an idea for this month’s challenge. Here goes:
Task 1
1. Choose a photo and expand it to fill your page, being sure to place it on the page in a pleasing way. This will be the main (and possibly only) “photo” for your page.
2. Lower the opacity.
3. Add at least two overlays. By overlays, I mean add layers on top of the photo to change the look. These can be overlays from your digital program, or other reduced-opacity photo(s). There are many online tutorials you can find to help explain this. In Photoshop Elements, I like to use the “blend” modes to alter the look. (In
PSE, click in box at top right of screen where it says “Normal” [next to “Opacity’] and scroll to see what each option does.) For
MDS users, here’s a video tutorial which might help:
Masking - My Digital Studio
That will be it for this week. Take some time to play with blending papers in whatever program you use and see the different ways you can add textures and other effects.

You may make a digital or traditional paper scrapbook page—
all scrappers are welcome and encouraged to play! You can start any week during the month, just begin with this week’s challenge and progress from here!
Have fun playing...I look forward to seeing the start of your pages!!
