I am laying low today, had epidural steroid injection into my back today. It was not horrible, but I am very sore. (more so than #1). I will be back running around tomorrow though!
We had a beautiful day yesterday- it was perfect weather with just a little breeze- I could live like that- today, rainy....good day to stay inside!
Looks like everyone is busy here- hope everything is sunshine and rises!
Hi! I made some time and cleaned and organized a bit in my craft room, and set up a space for my Mom to paint, draw, etc in my room.... so I can get up into my room. I actually made a card! Yeah! I have missed creating!
Mom is signed up to go to daycare a couple of days a week. They have different activities every hour to hour and a half like chair exercise, mini golf, etc....
She made a mason jar with a gauze around it, Ghost eyes and mouth and a battery operated light turned on. She is so excited by these crafts. Today, she made a scare crow : )
We are so excited for the Cubs to be in the playoffs! We are holding our breaths! My husband is so anxious.....
I was so happy to get around and visit all of your blogs! Such talent!
Well, I'm going out of town later this morning. I am leading a conference tomorrow and will get home late tomorrow night. So, let me be the first to say...
I'll see you Monday morning (unless I pop in again later this morning)!
I really do have Friday on my mind...
because on Friday
(while I'm in Branson for my family trip - my parents, sister and I)
my sister and I will be taking a few card classes with the LSS there.
The classes sold out early -
but that's okay because we signed up early.
Good Evening Chickies... I'm leaving in the wee hours of the morning to go out-of-state to spend a few days with my parents/sister. Therefore you won't be seeing me for a while.
Lynn, wondering if we should do a roll call and see if the ladies that do not stop in are still with us??? Anyone heard from Ching??? Is she OK?
Mom is at mo sis's for the weekend, I planned on getting lots of stamping done, but instead watched the Cubs (lose) and went thru my Copics one by one to see if I needed any reinkers- yep- got them ordered....
Today cleaning and getting laundry done- Cubs play tonight again- need a miracle .......
Shelly, it does look like our little group is slowly fading away. I can certainly understand that lives and interests are constantly changing. With over 50% of our members no longer visiting here or on the blogs, the time may have arrived to disband.
I have not heard from Ching. My hope is that all is well with her, but I don't know.
I am open to any suggestions anyone may have about the blog group.
What say the group members? Shall we push on with those who wish to stay.
Shelly, it sounds like you're making good use of the time while Mom is with others. I assume she's coming back to you soon, right?
Lynn, it does seem like we're dwindling. Here are my thoughts, though they are just that, MY thoughts. I'm flexible and will not make waves. Those who are faithful in this group do beautiful work and are very supportive of one another. I like that... and I love visiting blogs. That being said, we have quite a few MIA members, and my thinking is if they are not somewhat actively posting here in the thread and visiting the member's blogs, they really aren't part of the group and can be removed from the group (our blog lists on our blogs, too).
FYI - I am leaving in the wee dark hours of morning - DH and Brock are going, too, this time. We are heading to Chicago for our Convention's Annual Meeting. Then we will head north to Wisconsin to spend a couple of days visiting DS. Soooooo.... (you know what's coming).... I will be MIA again. If I don't pop back in later today, I'll see you next week here in the threads. ;) Have a great week!
Happy Halloween, all! While it's not my favorite holiday, we do love seeing the kiddies in their cute costumes and passing out the candies! This year, all of our kids will be together and walking around with us and the girls have matching outfits with their boyfriends ♥
Shelly, it has been quiet! I'm always of the mind frame that there is a season for everything and sometimes life gets in the way. I always think if someone isn't here or checking in, they must be really busy!
For me, I spend 5.5 hours A DAY just taking my kids back and forth to school (2.5 every morning, 3 every afternoon!) and it's cumbersome, taxing, and starting to really wear me down. It's a large chunk of my day just sitting in gridlock traffic back and forth and back and forth and makes it harder to get normal things done in the day here at home. Losing those 5.5 hours each day makes it even harder to keep up with crafting and blogging and online life because I still have to keep up the house, laundry, church, bible study, book reviews, Scouts, rehearsals, etc!
Having said that, I love you, my friends!! I try to stay connected as often as I can and make a point to stay around and visit when I can So I hope you'll keep me on, even though I haven't been the most active (as compared to before)
And if I'm still allowed to stay on, of course I'm a go with the flow and whatever you decide, you have my vote!
Shel, sounds like some fun times with mom! She's so blessed to have you. I love that she's active and that she loves spending time with each of the kids and seeing so much of family!
Hi Kelly! Again, just my thoughts... but I consider you as one of the somewhat active ones. It's the ones we never see - like for weeks at a time- that I think are MIA.
How fun to have the entire family together this evening... and the DD/BF matching costumes sound fun! (Are you going to be in costume, too?)
Truthfully, it seems to be just the four (or 5) of us left (Shelly, Jeanette, Kelly, Lynn and maybe Susan).
My preference would be to close down the CCMCs, pick a new name, and work with that solid core. Later if we wanted to open it to additional members, we could. Just my thoughts. Like Jeanette has said, I have learned so much from each one of you and discover bits and pieces of your beautiful work finding its way into mine. I don't want to lose our connection.
I took my baby girl to vote today .......... her first time voting. And Thursday, first time being at jury duty! Busy week!
Jeanette, yes I will have to do better at stopping in here more often ! I finally figured out how to do blogger on my iPhone as it has been blocked so that should help me while I'm sitting at the schools waiting
As always, I'm inspired by the unique creations I from with you all. I've gotten so used your card styles I could pick them out of a lineup and match them to each person
Jury duty went swell - dd wasn't chosen and we got to leave early so we headed out for a girls day of light shopping, window Christmas shopping and lunch at 5 Guys! I was happy to find something on the menu that was NOT meat
The drama show with little man last night was splendid - SOOO many wonderful talented young kids up there. The dinner, eh - not so much - lol. They actually ran out of food and it was super not well organized :( I was running around but heard about it and felt so bad for the family that stood in line 45 minutes and had empty plates. Yikes! He has his Boy Scout jamboree this weekend, all day Saturday and I'm hoping dh will take him and pick him up.
I never have such good luck with jury duty, Kelly! I am usually stuck there all day and then get dismissed too late to do anything fun like a day of shopping! Good for you and your daughter getting an unexpected day to enjoy each other's company.
Hope you son has fabulous weather for his Jamboree! I know it will have a blast regardless.
I think I am going to stay in and crochet some hand-warmers in school colors for my granddaughters' Christmas stocking stuffers since is looks like rain around here today.
Lynn, I like your idea about the group, but whatever is decided, I'll go with the flow. ;)
Kelly, so glad to hear the jury duty thing went okay.... better than it could have, for sure. And how fun to go to little man's show.... too bad about the food, though. I'm impressed that you figured out blogger on your phone. I've never been able to figure out how to comment on blogs from my phone. As much as I travel (without my computer) I really should put that on my "Things to Learn" list. ;)
We had a GREAT time on our trip - the convention was good and the visit with our oldest son and his girlfriend made the trip very special. Then...... oh, then....... we're driving toward home, which takes us through Chicago. I've done the trip many times, but never EVER have we had the traffic we had this time. Must have been Cubs-mania - and something about the 7th largest gathering ever. Anyone... Hot Sauce has navigation, which we were using. It told us that "due to high congestion" on the interstate ahead it was taking us off at the next exit and we'd take an alternate route. I ignored it. Slowly we made our way to the next exit and the navigation did the same thing, so off we went. Oh. dear. me! We drove for MILES through the little narrow streets of downtown Chicago - literally about 12 miles... cars everywhere going crazy in all directions. Masses of pedestrians. CRAZINESS! Needless to say, the going was slow and a bit tense for the driver of her brand new pretty red car. But we made it! Whew! It definitely was an adventure... to tell our grandkids about (if we EVER have any)... the day their Grammy drove through Chicago with a ton of Cubs fans.
Now I'm home for 3 days before I head to Nashville TN for a Women's Conference with 3 other women from our state. (I won't be driving - our state Exec is taking us and she'll be driving).
Today is Mt. Laundry Day.... think I might make some soup for supper. And while the washing machine is churning, I'll either do some cleaning or card making. The latter depends on whether DH is home, glued in front of the TV or not. If he is, I won't be cleaning because it's too challenging with him under-foot.
I beat you to the laundry this time, Jeanette. I cleared it all out on Friday. And, yes, it took all day!
Today I helped make guacamole from 3 crates of avocados for an organization which serves lunch daily to those in need in our community, crocheted a pair of boot cuffs as a Christmas gift, and started a crock pot of chicken and dumplings for dinner. Now I am thinking about a nap! Then I will get back to organizing my stamps and dies onto a couple of spinning racks I have. Pictures to follow!
It may seem as though I fell off the face of the planet, but alas, I held on!
My stamping and blogging slowed down a lot for various reasons, but I am trying to regroup. I peek in here occasionally, and feel bad that I haven't posted. Originally I wanted to catch up on the conversation before replying. Didn't happen...so I am jumping back in cold turkey!
This week, I will be busy with reorganizing much of my craft room/home office. We have company coming in Sunday; hosting my MIL's birthday party. The younger great-nieces/nephews like to make birthday cards for her. Nothing like a deadline to get me moving!
I hope to visit your blogs this afternoon and evening. I need something to distract me from the election.

FYI - I'm leaving early tomorrow morning to head out of state for a Women's Conference. So unless I pop in here later today, you won't see me again until Monday. Have a great rest of the week -and WEEKEND, too! BTW, unless something else comes up, this is my last over-night type of trip of 2016. EEK! Can I truly stay home that long?!?!?!? I might go into withdrawal.
Hi Everyone!!! Boy what a crazy few weeks. I think I told you all of my DIL and her breast feeding issues that resulted in surgery. I had the grandkids for 8 days and survived. The new bundle is ADORABLE! Of course I'm bias...heehee.I have closed down the cabin for another season. So "bitter sweet". I keepmtelling myself that its going to be great to sit back and relax a bit with out traveling back and forth but then the grandkids run through the door and I realize relaxing is NOT in the cards LOL. That's ok I love having them...keeps me young. Well maybe it really reminds me of how old I am. Boy they have energy! Bet you can relate. I've gotten a few cards done and some christmas gifts. I cant put them on the blog though til after the holidays or my gifts will be revealed. Maybe I'll just post a pic or 2 here. Hope everyone is doing great. I have not been able to get to the blogs as of yet but I will. I also need to back up on this group and read what you all have been up to. Maybe tonight. I just wanted to at least pop in.
Miss chatting with all of you.
