Hello Paper-Loving Inky Friends!

Things are still wonky in my posting, so no graphics, colors, and such from me.

Lynn, oh no! So sorry you're dealing the that. UGH! Gentle hugs, get better prayers and lots of love heading your way!

Shelly, what fun plans in your future! YAY! And congratulations on being Stamper of the Week!

Susan, you will enjoy the time with friends even if the show is a bust. And look at you... making favors for your Patty's day traditional meal!

Waving to Kelly - I hope you are doing well!

Today will be busy - sheesh! This week will be busy. Minutes to type today (from the state meetings); a newsletter to put together the rest of the week; and another out-of-town meeting all day Saturday. Plus DH is leaving for 4 days on Sunday so I have to have everything in order for his departure.

Oh... and this Breaking News.

Our town is getting a new trash service beginning March 1. The "old" company picked up our trash can yesterday morning and the "new" company hasn't brought the new one yet. DH said Brock had a deer-in-the-headlight look yesterday when he got home and was ready to tend to the daily trash chores. Fortunately we have a smaller trash can, too (of our own) that we can use for overflow... so Brock had somewhere he could put the trash. LOL!

The next hurdle... the our designated trash pick up day is changing from Monday to Wednesday so Brock will have to take the trash to the curb on Tuesday evenings instead of on Sundays. Yikes! They are messing with our guy's routines. ;)

Lynn, I just saw your morning post. I'm glad you slept well and have a bit less pain today. Please take care of yourself and don't over-do.

Oh Lynn do take it easy. Glad you slept well makes for a better day.

Talking about sleep...I've always slept with 1 eye open (as dh says since I HEAR everything during the night) so DH convinced me to start taking Melatonin to help me sleep. He takes it nightly and says it helps him. Well its been a month and it definately makes me fall asleep faster and I still get up to (well you know) potty and fall right back to sleep. All sounds good right? No I do not want to get up in the mornings. I force myself to get out of bed because of time not because I feel refreshed and then I'm so wiped out around 1pm and want to go back to bed. Now Im too tired! I think Im going to have to go back to my old ways of sleeping on and off all night long. I was always too scared to take sleeping pills but these Melatonin gummies seemed ok to me. Nope don't like it lol. Done ranting, heeheehee

So yesterday went all the way out to scrapbook store for tickets and the darn shop is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. WWWhhhhaaaattttttt! You have got to be kidding me. Luck for me trip was not wasted cuz right there was the "Semi Famous" (in the area) Country Donuts that bakes the absolute BEST Paczki's! I swear 1/2 the store is inaccessible due to the ceiling high racks filled with boxes of Paczki's ready for pick up. These people are on overdrive baking. I should say frying. Anyway I went in and was lucky enough to be able to get a dozen assorted for tonights Shrove Tuesday's Pancake dinner we have here every year. So all was not a waste of time.

Gotta go.........I'll check in later.
Waving to Jeanette, Kelly and Shelly

OMG I can't believe they are going to mess with Brocks routine! LOL He's not going to be happy. Just sayin'...lol
Our Shrove Tuesday dinner went great. I made blueberry pancakes, strawberry pancakes, sausages and thick sliced bacon and the "piece de la resistance" Paczki's!! They were fabulous! Now everyone but me Nick and Bryce is at Tori's violin concert. Bryce is complaining of an ear ache. Ugghhh...Claire is on antibiotics for a double ear infection. Guess it's may be Bryces turn. Talk tomorrow. Oh by the way hardly any snow here. So much for the 3-9" storm coming it's staying south.

Oh Susan - yum! Are you Episcopalian? The church where my son goes to Scouts is in a Pisca Palean church and they were just advertising a shrove Tuesday breakfast. We couldn’t make it but I heard their youth ministry did an amazing job!

Poor babies for the ouchies - I hope the antibiotics kick in soon. Funny you mention that because I have a right ear stopped up and I have been on them for four days now so far no change :(

Stay safe in the weather. It was 87° today and hot and miserable!!

Hello Paper-Loving Inky Friends!

BIG NEWS - Brock has a trash can! Now to get him to adjust to the change in pick up day. ;)

Susan, I'm glad your trip wasn't a bust and you were able to attain a delight for your Shrove Breakfast! YAY! I'm sorry Bryce is not doing well and that you had to miss Tori's concert.

Kelly, It is so funny about weather conversations - I think 87 would be heavenly. I'm so tired of winter. I think cold rains are the worst; I'd much rather have 87 degrees OR snow. But we et what we get, don't we?

Waving to Lynn (I hope you're doing better) and Shelly, our featured stamper friend!

Yes Kelly I am and it's a thing with Episcopalian's lol. Pancakes all you can eat on Shrove Tuesday. Guess we want to make sure we get in as many carbs as we can to hold us through. When I was a kid our church went all out. We were a small congregation and for Shrove Tues we had a huge pancake supper in the church hall. We kind of added in Mardi Gras for a theme and everyone would dress up. Then some of the Sunday School teachers would get the kids together for a few games, our organ player would play hymns and when we had all been stuffed with pancakes, sausage and applesauce we all would go into the church for and early Ash Wednesday service. My family continued this even after our beloved church closed down (various reasons to long to explain) Imagine my surprise when I found out other churches didn't do this (catholic, baptist, Lutheran etc) My grandkids are being raised Catholic and their church does not do this but we carry on the tradition here and the kids love it. I (having Polish in my genes) added the Paczki's to our feast just as my mother did. Our church way back when just had donuts lol.

Anyway...............................

We had about 1.5 - 2 inchs of snow last night. Pretty, but I think I'm ready for spring. Who's with me????

Not sure what plans I have for today. Maybe Pinterest. lol

Lynn hope things are better for you today.

Jeanette did you get alot of typing done?

Shelly how are things going for you? Are all your travel plans planned out or do you still have loose ends?

Have a Great Day

Hi Susan... yes minutes are finished and have been sent to our state Executive Director for his approval. Today it's time to work on the Newsletter. EEK!

Funny thing... I complained about cold rain and... got my wish! It started snowing not more than 5 minutes after I typed that. LOL!

Well, Susan and Jeanette, I guess if the two of you got snow, Shelly must have, too! While here is Texas where everything has started to bloom, we are shivering at 51° with our first freeze of the winter predicted for tonight!!

Kelly, your 87° will probably show up here by the first of the week! Hoping your antibiotics have kicked in by now and you are hearing in stereo!

I picked up a box of buttermilk pancake batter yesterday and may just have pancakes for lunch today, Susan. I am going to have to google Paczki's! Sounds like something I would love!

Glad you new can has arrived so Brock can work out his new schedule. I missed our pick up on Monday while I was down and am hoping to find space for more garbage when I open the lid today!

I am doing so much better that I slept in until 8:15 this morning! Unheard of!! I can't remember the last time that happened.

After tonight's Ash Wednesday service, I will help decorate for a ladies' salad luncheon at the church tomorrow.

Anxious to hear what Miss Shelly has been up to this week!

LOL Lynn...shivering at 51??? OMG your too funny. Thats like a heat way here! Glad your much better and you probably needed the rest. I'll just say Paczki's are a bit "Heavenly" if you get them at a perfect bakery or donut shop. Do not do grocery store ones they seem to be more dense and heavy.

Hello Paper-Loving Inky Friends!

Lynn, YAY for being able to sleep in. And double YAY for starting to feel better! I'm so glad!

Susan, it sounds like you know your Paczki's. ;) Now I'm going to have to google it, too... Lynn has made me curious!

Waving to Kelly and Shelly!

I hope today is a GREAT day for all of you!

They do look pretty darn tasty, don't they, Jeanette!! I have never seen one in Texas. The closest thing we have to that is a filled donut in looks but it sounds like the taste and texture is something totally different!

Off to make an avocado chicken salad for today's ladies luncheon.

Hope everyone has a great day.

LOL.....Love your "semi quote" You had me at Avocado Jeanette. Too funny.

Boy ladies I wish I could mail you a paczki. Seriously don't think it would make it through the mail though. lol

Picked up tickets for the Rockford show so the ladies and I are ready for a day of uncontrollable shopping! hahaha. I also got supplies (yep more paper...like I needed it) for the next Random act of Kindness the kids and I are doing. We are going to make Easter cards for a very small Senior apt building near us. The building is an old 1800's school house that houses about 60 apartments. Each apartment will receive a card. Its going to be so much fun. So for todays plans it will be cutting elements and get ready for the kids to create maybe this weekend.

Lynn so happy your on the mend.

Hi all!

I got my wish for COLD WEATHER - its in the 60's today from the high 80's yesterday! Bring on the UGG boots!
Just kidding - I'm wearing my red Keds with NO SOCKS ... such a rebel!

Susan, what an incredibly kind RAK - that's so sweet of you! My son and I have been running ragged doing work for his latest merit badge, including a trip to the police station. I about had a heart attack yesterday when they asked for my driver's license - but I got in and out and wasn't arrested so WHEW!

I know what Paczki's are and haven't had one for awhile - the sell out every time the scouts have them at the dinners! There's a mom that MAKES them and they go fast!

But Lynn, I tell you, Alice would fight you for the avacado! She adores it! She has it often as her 'side dish'.

Waving to Jeanette and Shelly - tonight is Scouts, so I'm off again!

Hello Paper-Loving Inky Friends!

Whew! What a busy week it's been - can anyone join me in saying TGIF?

Kelly, YAY for your cooler temperatures... and that thing went okay at the Police station. How was Scouts last night?

Waving to Lynn, Susan, and Shelly!

I'm leaving in the wee hours of darkness tomorrow morning and won't be home again until bedtime (an out-of-town meeting). Then DH leaves in the wee hours of darkness on Sunday for a 4-day work-related trip. Brock and I will keep things going here at home while he's gone.

If I don't pop back in here later today (but I probably will since I can't stay away too long), I'll see you again on Monday... have a fabulous weekend!

OMG Kelly too funny! Cold weather? 60's? Come on Girl you know it's not cold until your in the 20's and then only if there is no sun out will it qualify as cold. heeheehee

Jeanette your theme song is going to be Willie Nelson's "On the Road Again". You ladies amaze me with all the time you spend out of the house. I swear so far this week I have only been out of the house literally twice. Both times heading to the scrap store for tickets. Makes me wonder what the heck I do all day because it's sure not crafting all the time. lol
I got absolutely nothing done yesterday. A friend called and we spent 178 minutes on the PHONE! That is insane!! She had a ton to say good stuff bad stuff and her normal stuff. So funny that she had so much to say when we had just talked on tuesday. So today hopefully I can get some bases cut for those cards I want the kids to make for the apartment. I'm kind of excited to do this project.

I'm with ya Jeanette TGIF.
Ok Jeanette and Shelly lets push our weather south and show Shivering Lynn and Cold Kelly what cold really is LOL

Susan, I'd GLADLY send this cold weather to anyone - South, North, East, West... if it meant I could have warm weather. Have I mentioned how I'm very ready for Spring!?!?!?!

I hear you on the 178 minute phone calls... my DD and I mostly text but when she chooses to call, it is almost always a 2hour+ type of call. ;)

Now... I think you need to get out more. I can't imagine staying home all the time. In fact, my DH and I talk about how one of the ways I'm able to handle living in this teeny tiny town (I'm a city slicker by nature) is because I get to go so much. We are seriously considering this will be our retirement town... but we both question how I will handle it once my going comes to an end. EEK! (But it's a good fit for Brock and Mama sacrifices for his good often.... so I tell DH I can handle it.)

Ahhhhh...see we are both retired here. No need to get dressed if we don't want to lol. I'm not a city girl at all. Green Acres is the place for me! Keep Manhattan just give me that country side. lol Usually I do get out...I mean we have kids concerts, pinewood derbys, craft stores and of course my ladies group but things here are slow and quiet which is also why I love going up to the cabin. I could stay home at the cabin all week and never tire of just the peace and quiet, the beauty of watching the waves on the lake during the day and a glass of wine in hand star gazing at night. Plus Nick is happier without chaos so as you said Mamma sacrifices for his good.

You are a good mama!

You and I sound like opposites when it comes to dream living. If it was just me, I'd live in a loft in the heart of a city!

Ugggggg.....tomorrow is going to be a long day. I think Nick just came down with the cold the kids have had. I'm ready for spring. Maybe with these warmer temps I should air out the house. Today I deep cleaned around the house. Door knobs, base boards, stairs, windows in the living room, dining room and Kitchen. Floors. I think it's early to bed tonight.

Hello Paper-Loving Inky Friends!

Oh No! I am so sorry Nick has caught the kids' cold. UGH!!! I am praying his is a mild case and he'll be well again pronto! (((Hugs for Nick and his mama)))

Waving to all the quiet ones. ;)

My meeting Saturday was very good - and the trip went smoothly. I managed to pray my 131 days that day, too... which was a challenge. (Our national organization asked for volunteers to do that.) Yesterday my DH made it to Atlanta safely, and Brock and I kept out of trouble here at home. Today I need to run some errands (in between the morning rains and the afternoon rains) and do a few household chores, but other than that I plan to do some organizing/purging and then stamp the day away. No Monday blahs here... it sounds like a good day.

No big plans here today. Have to wait to see how Nick feels when he gets up.

Good Morning and Waving to everyone

Hi Susan! Sure hope Nick is doing okay!

I'll actually run my errands between our two rain systems coming through - or I'll wait until tomorrow. LOL! I do not like running errands in the rain.

Good afternoon, my inky friends! I hit the ground running this morning and ended up having a very productive day. Finished 5 sympathy cards I needed to send today and got them all down to the post office. Then, of course, I rewarded myself with a stroll through Hobby Lobby. I have been watching and waiting for the 75% markdown on all the Christmas dies and today was finally the day! Score!

Sure hope Nick's cold clears up quickly! Mine is almost gone after a month of hacking! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that his make a very brief appearance!

It is pretty much spring here now. Should rain in a day or two but I don't think our temperatures will be dropping again. They will be headed up, up, up from here on out!

I think I got my final tax form in the mail today, so I can spend tomorrow getting all my ducks in a row to deliver to my accountant. Sure would be nice to get some cash back this year. I need a new computer and a new phone.

Saturday, I am hopefully going to Houston to go wedding dress shopping with my girls and their mom! Z is getting married in October.

Jeanette, I love the city life, too, but would never want to live there! It's lots of fun to visit, though!!

Kelly, I love that your son keeps checking those merit badges off his list. He'll be an Eagle Scout before you know it!

Shelly, what are you up to these days?

I'm off to find a fun chicken recipe to cook for my date with the Bachelor tonight. I am beginning to wonder why anyone would want him, but too much time invested to not watch the train-wreck ending now!

Hello Paper-Loving Inky Friends!

Lynn, YAY for having a productive day yesterday. Mine was busy, but I'm not sure how productive I was.

Susan... how's Nick doing?

Waving to Shelly and Kelly!

I don't usually check the news when I first wake in the morning, but for some reason I did this morning - just after 4:00 a.m. :( Not a good start to the day. I'm praying for Nashville TN and other areas that were hit hard in the night.

Hugs for all...

LOL Lynn we both had the same date! I'm waiting for the train wreck too. My therory is just before the final rose he gets news about Hannah B...his original love so he drops both Maddie and Hannah and runs to go get Hannah B as advised by his mom to "go bring her home to us" LOL Next week I think I'll watch with a few Kahlua's lined up. I'm probably going to need them. LOL

Jeanette yes so sad about Tenn. We have quite a bit of friends how have retired down there so we have been checking in with them and so far they are all ok. Whewwww. Prayers out to all the others.

Shelly and Kelly must be quite busy so I'm waving hello

Nick seems a bit better. Yay! But he's not 100%. Tori had a choral concert last night and another one tomorrow. She's in 2 different Chorus groups plus Orchestra, band, and Guitar club so that girl sure keeps us busy with music. Tonight is family dinner nite and we're checking out a new recipe for a stuffed meatloaf. Can't wait to try it.

Have a good day

Default Hello

Hello!!!
Dropping in to catch up!

Not much new here.

I have signed up for the International Ancestry subscription for 6 months, so am spending a bit of time adding stuff to my tree and it gives you 'hints' and points you to German or Irish records. It also links you up to others who have the same person as in your tree, so you can add generations quite easily! I have my tree and Rays tree, his tree is very specific to locations, so many 'hints' on his side. We have both lines in Germany back to the 1700's and some have great stories associated so you know the history of the family, which is very cool! Many Germands came here to escape the German Army, only to get drafted her in the Civil war OR the WWll.

I have a 'flare' of Fibromyalgia today- fingers all swollen and achey all over. I slept until almost noon- yikes! I missed my AM Bible study : ( I did get up and hit the road with piano (suprisingly had a great lesson), then off to Tuesday Morning and Grocery store. Home to make dinner and made 2nd Bible study class- great class tonight!

Trying to find hand sanitizer for our flight next weekend- I stopped at 4 stores- shelves cleaned out! So crazy! One lady told me to come tomorrow at 1PM, so will stop back- they are right by the Post Office and I have things to mail, so will work well. I have prayer group at 9AM, so will work out perfectly!

I had a bit of time tonight, stamped some images for a friend from SCS that has 2 broken wrists- on the healing path, but will still have trouble stamping, so hope she enjoys a 'kit' of stamping supplies. When I had wrist surgery in 2007, someone (Beate) from SCS sent me stamped images and I really appreciated them, as I could not stamp! But, I could color.

Susan- you are so funny- Green Acres- I could live like that, but allergies would probably kill me! Jeanette- City living would probably kill me too. I will stay right in the middle in a suburb and be happy as a clam.
Hoping Nick clears up quickly!

Jeanette- I love your Brock stories- hope the two of you did well while hubby was gone! Can you leave Brock alone at home when you go out to do errands, or does he need to come with you???

Kelly- yeah for your son- how far away from Eagle scout is he? And, any new plays for him?

I met my sisters on Sunday up by my Aunt- she fell in the shower and must have done a roll over- bruised up and down both arms, found face down but has a gash in the back of her head. Doc sent her to Rehab, so we visited her after lunch and she looks so weak and fragile! We did not stay long, so really wanted to be quiet and left alone. It's hard to watch her decline.
We had lunch before we went to see her, and celebrated being together and both of them have Birthdays in a couple of weeks time 2/24 and 3/9. We have brothers that have Birthdays 3/4 and 3/9, so will just mail them cards..... Nothing like sisters : )

Hugs to you- my stamping Sisters!!!

Shelly

Good Morning, friends!

I'm still here! Work has been slammed and that's kept me from crafting and computing - March is the new fiscal calendar for us so it's like accountants for tax people!

I wave to the family like ships in the night!

Shelly - no kidding on the supplies for the Coronavirus! I am saddened to see the price gouging going on - especially on Amazon. Shouldn't be allowed but ..... it's a scary thing and it's in so many states now - scary!

The Kid is still a good while away from Eagle - he's missing 3 merit badges, I think? No plays for him until next year but they are all emcompassing - when you see one, you see them all ... either doing tech or costume or whatever! Fun times! This year is tough - academically He's getting his first rounds of B's ......... but it's not an F, that's the way I look at it!

Lynn - I hit the Hobby Lobby sale last week! It was AH-MAY-ZING! My cart was half full and I think the total didn't even hit $50. So many new goodies - but that's how I roll. Clearance! LOL!

Waving to Jeanette and Susan!

Hello Paper-Loving Inky Friends!

Susan, I'm glad to hear Nick is some better! How was the stuffed meatloaf? (I hope Kelly plugs her ears when you answer.)

Shelly, I'm sorry you had a flare up and am praying you're much better now. Good luck finding/getting the hand sanitizer! I giggled about your city/suburbs comment. See, I've mostly lived in teeny tiny towns since marrying my DH (he's a country boy) so I call the burbs city now... lots of buildings, some of them tall. Yep, it's city life enough for me. ;) No, Brock can never be left home alone. BUT I ran the errands while he was at work and yesterday I had a mid-day meeting, again while he was at work.

Kelly, the price gouging is rough. I heard Amazon pulled a lot of those businesses/items from their site. YAY for bargains!!! And hoping work slows down soon so you can enjoy them. That's quite an endeavor to work toward Eagle Scout. I'm sure he'll make it. I had some classes I would have been elated to get a B in... okay, that may be more about myself than I should share in this intelligent group. (insert embarrassed face)

Waving to Lynn!

Ahhhhh...Shelly thats why I make sure I have my allergy stuff right with me. Flare ups are horrid in spring with the Cottonwoods and again in the fall as farmers are cutting down their fields. I have my pills, nose sprays and eye drops and keep on trucking lol. I heard about the sanitizer shortage. You know you can make your own using 1 part Aloe Vera to 2 parts 90% alcohol. I always have the aloe incase the kids get a sunburn or a regular burn and always have alcohol in medicine cabinet. So nice that you were able to spend time with sisters. I love my sister time. Wish there were more of those times. I think I need to make a better effort. lol

Oh Lynn you have me thinking I need a Hobby Lobby run! Glad you got some awesome deals.

Kelly I didn't even know you worked. How on earth do you manage thay with all the running around you do? You definately are a SUPER WOMAN!!!

Jeanette had to giggle at your "B" comment. I was happy with "C's" heeheehee.
That meatloaf...Kelly plug your ears.........was heavenly!! OMG sooooo yummy. This thing was huge but I was feeding 8 of us. I would like to try cutting the recipe for smaller ones for the 3 of us or at least divide the original recipe into 3 separate loafs. I would definately like to make this again. Now Kelly you can open your ears cuz for the side I made Zoodles. (zucchini noodles) Those were also delish! Even the kids like those.

Might craft today or read a book. Hmmmmmm...I got the new Stephan King book Institute for Christmas and still haven't picked it up. Usually once I start a book I don't want to put it down and days could just slip by so I need to know I have no other plans for the next few days before I dive in. LOL Do any of you do that? Get so absorbed into a book that nothing else gets done until you finish the book?

Have a great day ladies!

Hi Susan... I'm glad the stuffed meatloaf was a hit. I'd never even heard of stuffed meatloaf so now I may need to google it for possible recipes.

I'm going to the office a bit this morning, then I'm going to come home and work on some organizing and stamping projects. DH's on his way home today... not sure yet if he'll get here today or tomorrow. He's thinking of detouring through KY to see a cousin who's ben pretty sick.

Sounds like a detour may be a good idea for DH. Sometimes a surprise visit is very good medicine. Though I'm sure you miss him a ton when he's gone and Brock is probably anxious for his return too.
Here's the recipe I used.
Sicilian Meatloaf - Lisa's Dinnertime Dish

Super yummy

Thank you Susan... it looks delicious!

We are doing well. I encouraged DH to take his time and do what he wants as he journeys home. We'll see. He's much more of a homebody than I am. ;)

Hello Paper-Loving Inky Friends!

My DH made it home late last night, a day earlier than he' thought he might. i didn't accomplish as much as I'd hoped while he was gone - I had a lot of interruptions - but it's good to have him home again. I have now thrown away the "To Do While He's Gone" List. ;)
