Good morning. Not sure why I have not been getting notifications of posts lately. I hope both Jeanette and Maxine are getting more sleep. Safe trip Jeanette. Barb, I hope you get over that cold soon. Are you taking meds for it? I was supposed to have lunch with a GF today, but she let me know that she's very sick - possibly COVID. She's one that hasn't had vaccines because of allergies. I need to check to see how she's doing.
I also need to get a new backyard fence put up. The one I have is starting to fall apart. I've gotten one estimate already and one coming today and one tomorrow. The one I got is really high. I hope one of the others is somewhat lower. I looked up the company that installed the present one 12 years ago and it was very inexpensive. Unfortunately, the website said they were temporarily closed.

Hello SCS Friends! I am feeling a bit better today, but I still know I have a cold. I am very happy it is not worse. I am drinking lots of ginger tea! I plan to cut the grass later and then spend some time in the stamp room. I hope you too have a good one!
Maggie--I hope your coming estimates are better. It is amazing how much prices of everything have gone up, especially since Covid!
It's funny. I got two estimates from actual fence companies that were pretty similar, then one estimate I got from a church friend who has a construction company that also does this kind of work. His estimate was $3000 higher than either of the other two. I guess you know who I'm not going to choose. The problem with the last one is that he never gives you a detailed estimate and that's what I like. They figure it all up and then just give you the bottom line. And he didn't come to my house to do actual measurement of my yard.

I hope you had a fantastic weekend! I sure did. The conference was amazing, the exhibit hall worked well, and I got go see a lot of friends from all over the state and even one who's moved out-of-state. Fun times!!!
Now it's crunch time at work. I need to put the newsletter together so I can send it out tomorrow.
Maggie, I haven't been getting email notifications either - for a couple of weeks. I am guessing there's a glitch on SCS.
Barb, I'm glad you're feeling some better. Praying you're all better soon.
Maxine, your prayers were answered. Thank you.
Waving to everyone else and wishing you a GREAT day!
Good Morning--it does feel like a Monday here! I still have my cold hanging on, but it is not getting worse. It needs to go away as we leave on Friday and I have not hiked at since early last week, including passing on a group hike today. Hopefully I will go on Wednesday and maybe Thursday too. It is also a rainy day but it is to be nice tomorrow through Thursday. I am mostly packed for the trip and have a few lists going of thing to be done! Have a good one!
Good Morning--it is a bright and sunny day here. I do feel a bit better this morning. I have felt quite good in the afternoons and evenings, but the mornings have been a bit rougher. I am planning on this being the turn-around-day!
Good morning. I'm still not getting notifications. I get caught up in what I'm doing around the house that I don't make it over here. I like having the notices so I can go right to the thread.
I'm getting a new fence installed. My yard man came yesterday to clear the tree branches and such from around the back fence. Well, he didn't bring his ladder to reach some of it. He did get the lawn mowed and some more plants in the ground. I can't get the fence started until he gets the trees cleared out. I was somewhat annoyed since I had texted him about the trees and even sent him pictures and then he wasn't prepared to do the work.

Good Morning--Welcome to May! I am going for my first hike in more than a week this morning--it is a beautiful sunny day. I hope you too have a beautiful May Day!
I only get an email notification if I have been here to the page...
Went to Rotorua today with a couple of girl friends and got some beautiful cyclomans that are now gracing my wee front deck - one of them is scented also!! I also got a Sizzix 3-D embossing folder, and another Sizzix folder and die set for 25% off!!
Great to know you are feeling well enough to get out and tramp Barb - long may it last
Hope the 'rush' is now over Jeanette - I have hours of minutes to type up ready for a meeting on Tuesday, but up until now I have been focussing on getting my sermon ready for Sunday... never a dull moment.
Maggie that was a bit frustrating, and disappointing that your yard man came unprepared for the work you clearly informed him about - hope the fence can go ahead without a delay
Maxine, it's good to see you. I don't know what's up with notifications. I'm still not getting any at all. I'm sure your sermon is going to be great... I wish I could be there to hear it.
It's still pretty hectic here, but today I'm staying home. We're having gravel work done on our driveway and i'm afraid if I left I wouldn't be able to come home until it was finished. It will be good for a catch up day at home anyway.
Barb, you leave tomorrow, right? I am so excited for you and know you'll have an amazing trip!
Maggie, how's the work coming along in preparation of the new fence? It sounds like a big undertaking. Are the outside kitties okay with all of the commotion?
Waving to everyone else, too... sending hugs for all!
Good Morning--tomorrow at this time we will be on a bus, heading to Chicago! The hike yesterday was good for me, even if it was only 3 miles. We are both pretty much packed and will be ready to go in the morning. The two of us might go for another hike this afternoon if it is not raining to see all of the bluebells blooming in the state park near us. I will check in when I am able on our trip--they say it is called a trip and not a vacation when you are retired. So, we are on a trip to Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland. See you soon or around Memorial Day Weekend!
