Stamp Out Fat! User Group Details
Stamp Out Fat!
Here’s how it works… whether you have a few pounds to lose from your Holiday splurge or you need to lose a whole person so the “skinny you can be seen, there is a spot for you here. It is never too late to join!
· On the homepage click on “Join a User Group.
· You will be approved to join the group and you will receive an email notifying you that your name has been added.
· When you return to the Forums page after receiving the email, the Stamp Out Fat! group will be listed as an option for you to browse through on your Forums page.
· Go to the Support Groups Sticky and check to see what Support Group you have been placed in. You will be placed in a group of four and you can swap goals and snail mail addresses to send stamped encouragement cards. You can PM each other and encourage to your heart’s desire.
· Email those members to gather addresses and goals and begin encouraging.
· Sign up for the Weighty Challenge Journals once inside that Sticky. At that post you will sign up to make and to receive a journal that you can use to keep track of your goals.
· Check the Stamp Out Fat! section of the Forum regularly and remember to post encouraging words, ideas, exercise tips and challenges there that will benefit those who read it.
FAQ’s
What is inside the Stamp Out Fat! Forum? Inside you can post recipe ideas, exercise tips, any sort of help needed or encouragement for all of us who are in the same boat! You may even come up with a challenge or two! And of course, let’s all upload those great journals and cards we are using for encouragement!
So, what’s the journal for and how do I make one? Well, in this usergroup, there will be people who are on all sorts of dietary plans. Journals will be used to keep track of your goals, progress, exercise and before and after pictures. You may want to keep track of your family group addresses also.
How do I make a Journal? Journals can be made in many ways. Some people like to make them from the B&W Composition notebooks by covering the front and back covers with cardstock and stamped images and covering the binding with velvet ribbon or paper. You can do a search of the gallery and see many examples. For a template to use customized pages you can check this link. http://splitcoaststampers.com/forums...=229095#229095

Thanks Laurel for doing this!! You deserve a special halo cuz we all know it took a lot of work to pull this all together. Won't it be great to post the total pounds lost at the end of 2005!

Okay, I have been approved for the usergroup through the email and when I look at my usergroups, it says I belong to it, but when I go to forums, it isn't showing up (and it was earlier today). Help!

we've had a few "technical difficulties" (read: lame-o admin who's been doing this long enough not to screw things up). I'll check again to make sure that everyone's access settings are done properly.

Hold on... Daven said that this might happen because he was supposed to have it hidden until it was up but he forgot...so lots of people saw it even before I did and could get organized. So I have approved everyone who has asked to be in the usergroup so far and you should get it added. If there continue to be problems let me know and I'll get with Daven.
ALSO... I just completed my SOF! Journal for Bev Barton! It is a customized one with the pages I created and I will be posting that template for anyone to use in the SOF! area. I bound mine with a coil binder and even put tabs and pockets and plastic to protect the covers!!!

Laurel, I just signed up. I saw in a previous topic that people were signing up for + or - 25 pounds and whether or not they wanted to be in a group that was swapping journals.
Would you add me to the +25 group with no journal. Thanks

I have PMed Daven to let him know... I have approved over 100 people so far...in fact I am sitting here all day approving as soon as they come in and I am aware that none of you can get in the forum yet. He must be working on that...at least I have let Daven know about it. So try a little later and if it still doesn't work let me know cuz we want to get it up and running!

Not sure
I really want to join - I am expecting my 5th child and have been doing so well this pregnancy - I have only gained 4 lbs and I just hit the 20 week mark - but I know that I have to remain consistent with my weight gain and healthy eating habits. I think I will join this user group - I cannot wait to start on my journal....

Ok I've been checking this website out for about 2 months now and never have posted anything. I just requested to be in stamping out fat group, hopefully they will approve me.. My name is Val and I love to stamp and I really need to lose weight. I can't find the directions to make the journal,, where can I find it.. I'm really excited about splitcoaststampers.. I'm not a SU Demo but I'm a very good customer.. ha ha... Anxious to get to know some of you. Is there any Red Hat Society ladies out there? I'm a pink hatter until October when I turn 50 and graduate to the Red Hat.. yeah[/img]

Hi, and welcome!
My mom is in a very active red hat group back in PA. I mentioned it to my friends a couple years ago, but they weren't quite yet interested. Most of them are just behind me and turning 50 in the next couple of years. (I'm 53.) I'm hoping to try again.
Do you have a good active group?
I need to re-commit to losing weight. It's sure not easy, esp. the older you get.

We have 24 in our group and we're called "Abes Babes" since we're from Lincoln,IL.. how appropriate is that? lol We go out for lunch to some nice tea room or somewhere once a month.. In the winter months we stay in town but the other times we go to different cities. We're between Peoria, Springfield, Bloomington and Decatur, so there's lots to pick from..
I really need to loose about 60 lbs, I'd be happy losing 30. I'm suppose to be getting my cholesteral down, have to go to Dr. next month and have blood work again, if it's not down, which it won't be, Doc's going to put me on medicine to lower it... What kind of diet works for you?

I'd like to join. What are the choices within the groups? I see people asking for XX number of lbs. or with or without journals, so I'm not sure exactly what's going on.... But I do need to lose some weight and this sounds like a great way to do it. I did WW for 2 years - did well the first year, but after that, I just couldn't get into it.
