Something we should all do.
A friend of my DH sent this to him. I thought we should all be involved.
When doing your Christmas Cards this year, take one card and send it to the address below. If we pass this on and everyone sends one card, think of how many cards these special people who have sacrificed so much would get. This is a great idea.
A Recovering American Soldier
c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center
Thanks to all of you for your support of our wounded soldiers in recovery. I hope everyone will send a card. They are so appreciated! Most of the card and gift programs have fallen by the wayside with the crisis of our economy. A card is something everyone can afford...it's a stamp! The card can be that from a child or something cute just scribbled onto construction paper but it will always bring a smile to some soldier. Pray for peace and the safe return of our soldiers. Happy Holidays. Send the card today! Holiday Mail for Heroes
PO Box 5436
Capital Heights, MD 20791
Hugs to you all, Reesey
Sending a card to "A Recovering American Soldier" . . . this will NOT be delivered.
Sending a card to "Holiday Mail for Heroes", P.O. Box 5456, Capitol Heights, MD 20791-5456 . . . these will be delivered. This is a program sponsored in part by the American Red Cross. The cards need to be post-marked by 12/7/09. (Check out the American Red Cross website for details.)
Come on and send a card . . . tell a hero thanks for their sacrafice and your freedoms, and wish them a wonderful holiday!

What is the correct box number for this address?? I checked the American Red Cross website and couldn't find any information regarding this project.

Oh! *startled look* Thanks for pointing that out! I had thought "postmarked by" but no, you're right. They've got to have it by tomorrow!! Well, definitely next year!
